im a 15 year old male, im about 5'8 and weigh around 129 lbs.
I just went out and bought a tub of Syntha-6 protein powder. It's 23 grams of protein a scoop, and it reccomends you take 2 scoops in 10oz of milk for males. For my age i have no idea if that's right. I try and get a good weight lifting workout at the gym 3-5 times a week. Now i dont wanna get HUGE, im just looking for a bit bigger arms, but im mainly doing this so i can increase my maximmum bench amount by 45 lbs, as im pretty weak right now and can only do 100, yeah its embrassing but whatever thats why i got some protein and im hoping someone can help me out with how much to take, my moms saying only 23 grams a day but i doubt thatll do much, so someone give me an idea please and thankyou

In order to gain lean muscle mass, you should have between 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per body weight pound a day. So you should try and get 130 to 195 grams of protein a day. Now that is total, not just from Whey.

Whey protein is good as a fast digesting meal taken within 45 minutes of a weight training session.

It's good to get as much of your protein through clean foods (i.e. tuna, chicken, steak eggs etc.) Protein shakes should be used as one or two of your 5 - 6 small meals a day not as your only source of protein.

In order to gain muscle mass / strength, you need to increase your calories everyday. But be smart and don't fill up on junk food.

Don't worry about how much you lift. Worry about good form and lifting smart. Any good bodybuilder will tell you to check your ego at the door when you walk in the gym. It's about the correct exercise for your goals, and good form so you don't hurt yourself.

You want protein for your vitamin if it is from a protein shake or from different meals. Lifting weights does support with wasting weight and constructing muscle. So I suppose the protein shake must be pleasant. I do not know a lot approximately hydroxycut.

simply adding supplemental protein to the diet does not guarantee that there will be in increase in muscle mass and it does not cause one to get massive muscles. protein is only part of the equation when it comes to building big muscles. there must also be a sufficient intake of carbohydrates, fats and veggies for maximum muscle growth to occur. also adding protein to the diet does not increase athletic performance. so if increasing your bench if your focus that will be accomplished as a result of your training routine not from the diet. at your level I would bench 2x a week. one heavy day where you want to do sets of 3 sets of 5 reps of a weight that is around 80% of your 1 rep max. the 2nd day perform 3 sets of 10 reps at about 80% of the weight that you used on the heavy training day. when you can perform 3 sets of 5 reps on your heavy day then increase the weight by 5%.

for a 2000-calorie diet, it is recommended to have about 50 grams of protein. to supplement a size and strength workout program, most bodybuilding sources say to take 1 gram(or even more) of protein for each pound of bodyweight daily.
