As long as the majority read the Bible they will vote against gay marriage. It is not what it says about marriage but what it says about homosexuals.

The Bible states that the actual act of homosexuality is the subject. gay marriage isn't even pronounced explicitly. the clarification this is further into debate, nevertheless, is that marriage is something that's amazingly oftentimes carried out in a Church. many human beings precise make the thought that gay marriage will bring about... different issues, which fits against God's very own be conscious. as a result, they can't condone it.

I really don't get why everyone blames christians for this law not being passed. It's not all us you know. In a gay partnership, right now, if one partner dies even leaving a will, the surviving spouse pays a huge interitance tax because they weren't legally married. I'd say it has a lot more to do with the government wanting that money than it has to do with christians. I'm christian, and I'm not against it and quite honestly, I've never seen it come up at our voting poll. Will they turn straight if we don't let them marry? Of course not, so I don't see the point in being against it.
Christianity sure didn't have any say in Roe -vs- Wade, did it? Do you think we got to vote on making abortions the new form of birth control? Nope. The politicians make the laws not based on what we want, but on what's best for their own finances and the budget. The budget would include that inheritance tax fee the government gets, and its quite a good chuck of the inheritance. And face it, employers don't want to cover the partners, their insurance companies don't either. It's all about the almighty dollar, not the almighty God.
I'm guessing you don't want to hear this though, it would mean you'd have to rant against the people really keeping it from happening, and its way more fun to blame us.

Because righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to a people. The United States & Europe was founded with Christian values and that's why it has prospered and blessed until today. God has not changed. A great spread of homo lifestyles in a nation may eventually bring God's judgement. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah?
Those of you who said that the Bible doesn't mention anything about gay marriage are ignorant. Go and read Romans Chapter 1 verses 26-27 and tell me which kind of relationship it's talking about.

It isn't mentioned in the Bible. What does matter is the eighty plus percent of people in this country who believe marriage is between a man and woman. If you want to have a "civil union" or whatever, go for it, just don't call it marriage.

Our nation was founded on Biblical principles. We have enjoyed the blessing of God because of it for a lot of years. Our laws are modeled after the Bible. Read some books by D. James Kennedy. They'll clear it right up for you. If we keep going further away from God in this country, we will lose our blessing. God can't reward disobedience. God bless!!!
I have to answer your comment about understanding why people hate this country....I truly believe that anyone who hates this country probably realizes that they are free to leave it ,and no one will miss them if they do so. So long and good riddance.

It's not about our nation's laws. If the Bible is true, it matters to our eternal souls if we engage in blatant sin or not. The more we make sin acceptable and legal, the more people will die apart from God. It's not about the law, it's about the LAW. No one wants to see someone else suffer for all eternity, so we continue to push to keep sin from becoming legal in this temporary kingdom.

Because people who see the Bible as their moral guide believe it to be relevant. If you don't accept the authority of scripture it wouldn't matter
