The One True Church will not stand unmolested at your door! You will believe, or you will be cut off from the presence of almighty god forever and ever!.
Isn't that enough to scares the willies out you?
Besides, you're 10% ccontribution (if you accept the gospel of jesus christ and go to the temple) puts more money in the bank to support more teenage missionaries, who have no idea what they're talking about, into the line of fire.

I know exactly what you mean, same thing with the Jehovah's Witnesses. But the thing is, they believe in their religion and that is what their religion teaches them to do. Just like you have your own belief system, as do I. I don't know the best way to handle these "visits" but I do try to be polite and tell them that I am busy, take their handouts and let them get to their next "visit." I do actually read the handouts occasionally, sometimes there is an interesting different point of view presented in them, or some different take on a biblical point that I hadn't ever thought of. It doesn't mean I have to change my religion or the way I think.

Yes, I find it a bit annoying but at the same time, I cut them a break. They honestly believe they are doing you a huge favor and helping to save your soul. That's why, even though I'm a nonbeliever, I always say "Thank you", take their little pamphlet, shut the door, and chuckle. I then use the pamphlet as a coaster for my coffee mug.

Show a little imagination. Get a really nasty Halloween mask,

put it on, open the door. Observe whether Latter Day Saints can overcome soiled knickers. TEST OF FAITH! I love it when they both scream.

LOL That is funny. I usually invite them in and the Sacred Heart Picture does it for them. I have invited them to say the Rosary with us. They respectfully decline and leave.

You know this reminds me of a funny story. My ex and I got accosted by a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses one night when we were going home, and I being the respectful person I am, stopped to listen to them talk to me. Big mistake. They just kept telling me that me and him were living in sin, blah blah blah, and he got tired of listening to it, so he walked off. I stayed and tried to talk to them about what I believe, and he got tired of waiting for me, so he yells out loudly down the block, "Becca, hurry up, we're late for our virgin sacrifice." True story, I swear.

I don't have any problems with Mormons coming to my door... as long as they don't mind me proselytizing them as much as they're trying to proselytize me.

thats not what they are trying to do. They honestly believe what they do and want you to believe the same thing- they need to leave people alone, but its not as bad as your making it out to be

I think the real issue is - why do they use the Book of Mormon? The Bible warns against spiritism.
