The sky ceases to be the sky when the atmosphere reaches 0% oxygen, nitrogen, etc. When you reach outer space, you have left the sky behind. I just made that up, but it sounds good.

remember? where our rockets fly to? space.
sky is between earth and space.
besides planes fy throught the sky, they cant go to space.
birds fly through the sky, they cant go to space.
for these things the sky is the limit.
