Ok I have an Emachines OD disk a friend gave me with key code and all the numbers. he bought one, mother board fried, they gave him a new coimputer with another OS disk thus the extra disk I have. The problem, somehow when I try to install the Emachines Vista on my homebuilt computer it knows that my computer is not the Emachines, the computer wont even read that there is a disc in the disk drive, now I am at the moment running Win98 as my XP cd got scratced and is no longer useable. Has anyone figured a way around or could point me to a website that talks about getting around this problem, somehow I need my computer to understand there "is" a disk in there and our world would be much more rocking if you could just take that information and install it, ha ha.... thanks guys...
