I constantly hear Christian bashing from the homosexual community. Why is this? Christians don't care what you do behind closed doors. True Christians know that all people are sinners. Everyone has different sins. They know that homosexual activity is sinful for them and theirs. They may tell you that, but then again some people tell you it's bad to eat ice cream, smoke cigarettes, gamble and drink alcohol and you don't hate them. They may vote and organize in a way that reflects their view of the world, but every one does that. They may object to your sexuality being promoted in schools, but many people object to various aspects of the sexual teachings in schools. As parents they have a say as to what is taught to their children. So, what's the beef?

nuPhyllis, why does it have to be a way to get back at someone? We just see the world differently. We both see the other side obsessed with us. I believe what I said to the other questioner. I believe what I wrote in the explanation to this question.

zzzzz6, when did Christians try to make homosexuality illegal? NEVER. Provide a link to prove your point. Actually, gays who push hate crimes on us want to outlaw any priest or pastor from quoting from the Bible regarding homosexuality because that might be considered hateful and may incite violence.

If they stopped whining it would help.... whining tends to get on people's nerves...
It seems that homosexuals want to FORCE Christians into accpting their marriage or union... where if they accepted that some WON'T do that, allot of the acting out would stop. All the flamboyant, vocal, fighting disposition just puts everyone in combat mode.
And many homosexuals bash the heck out of Christians because they see Christians as their greatest opposers.... take the rose colored glasses off man...

I hear more Homosexual bashing from Christians than Christian bashing from Homosexuals. I am a baptized Catholic, just getting back into practicing my faith. There is no bashing either way from me.
I was quite taken aback when I studied the Catholic religion through RICA. It is not the sexual orientation that is a sin, it is the sexual relationship outside marriage. This is a huge catch 22...if homosexual marriages can not be a sacrament, how can the sin of "sex" outside marriage be resolved? I didn't ask any questions partly because it took me by surprise, and partly because it's not my cause.
Bashing requires an audience. If you don't listen neither side can bash.

Well, being gay or lesbian is difficult in America and some Christians (not all) are very intolerant and cruel to them. If they seem obsessed with Christianity, it's because they've been put on the defensive their whole lives. I like to gamble myself, and if someone tells me I'm a no good sinner for going to Las Vegas, I won't be happy. I could only imagine how much worse the sting would be if someone questioned your sexual orientation.

They're blaming us for not being allowed to marry. Personally, I don't see a problem with it, not letting them marry isn't going to make them straight, right? I understand for insurance reasons, not to mention when one partner dies, the other has to pay inheritance tax, even with a will, because its not a spouse. So, I understand it, and I don't have a problem with it. It's a sin, but hey, I have my own sins to deal with. I think some of it comes from the fundies who have a tenency to tell people they're going to hell, like Jesus gave His job as judge to them. Being gay doesn't necessarily mean they don't believe in God. So I think some stems from their desire to be able to go to church, be a member and not be humiliated by the other parishioners. Kinda like the nerd who wants to be accepted by the cool kids. Not that church goers are cool, just the feeling of rejection part is similar. When people reject us, we lash out.

Probably because there are "fake" Christians out there, that bash them and treat them wrong. I'm a christian and i have nothing against homosexuals ( love ur neighbor as urself and love them as Jesus loved u).But, just because i have nothing against them doesn't mean i agree with their act. It does say in the Bible that homosexuals will go to hell.
"...Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

I think it is because god is there for anyone and will not laugh at them for who they are like todays world. I fully beleive, though that it is WRONG to be homo/bisexual and say you are a true christian. The christian faith is based on the holy bible and that totally goes against what it says in there.

...I don't think I've EVER heard a gay person bash Christians or Christianity on this forum or anywhere else. Gay-bashing, on the other hand, is something that many theists do all the time; just take a look at the LGBT section sometimes. I think it's pretty clear who's obsessed with who.

Because they know that WE know that they cannot be gay and be a Christian. When Christianity comes into your life, the homosexuality must go. They want to believe that they can be gay and still go to heaven, which is not true.

That's my point too, don't put it in my face.. and I feel the same way about Hetro couples.... I don't need details, what you do is your biz.. I don't care. But attempting to FORCE people to approve of something they don't is lunacy in the 1st degree.
