your not going to find a job over here unless you work for a international company with an office in Thailand, and they are willing to transfer you here. As for teaching English here, most schools at least require a bachelor degree. You may find some remote school willing to hire you, but pay will be too low for you to live the life you been used too. You also need to check out the visa requirements here. Come over for a vacation and check things out.

It will be better if you can get a qualification to go over to Thailand to do a teaching job. That is what most foreigners can do easily there. There are a few international organisations that recruit for such teaching post, but you still need at least TEFL.

Another possible way for you if you really want to work in a volunteer organisation is to check up some websites below for what will be expected from you:

http://www.thai-experience.org/
http://www.transitionsabroad.com/publications/magazine/0201/volunteer_thailand.shtml
http://www.4icj.com/th/10-seasonal-jobs-volunteering.htm

This one has a lot of organisations to look through, maybe including those above.

If you notice, quite a few are asking for payment for your time. Skip them and look for those that provide a service for free, just connect you to the agency you want to work for a salary with.

Hope you find something appropriate for yourself. If not, you can write to me at thaitourinfo@yahoo.com and I can try to see how else I can help you. Take care.

It is getting tougher and tougher to get a work permit in Thailand as if they do not want foreigners working here. What I can recommend is to finish your school (college/university) in the States, get a degree or two, then:
apply for an English teacher at decent English school in Bangkok or find a job at a multinational corporation which has an office/branch/affiliate/subsidiary in Thailand. BTW why Thailand? Is there any specific reason such as you want to learn Thai, Thai cooking or dance?

there's a Thai grocery someplace in London call Tawan, you may get something there, yet costly. Asides from that, there are approximately eighty Thai eating place in London and bigger section on my own. in case you’re Thai and being a Thai pupil, there’s a Thai pupil affiliation call Samakki. hit upon the Thai Embassy, consular section, or the pupil section call Kor Por (don’t be conscious of the call in English). All in all, Thais in England are actually not something like Thais in Thailand. in case you’re Thai pupil, get you bud mutually and end the course and are available back. in case you’re not, shop up you funds and are available for a bypass to. in any different case, initiate liking the place you're real now with the intention to not waste the time on your life.

yeah, you are going to have some issues here, such as visa and working as an illegal immigrant.. you might want to find an NGO or peace corps but they may want a commitment...

ps - if it is volunteer work, you do not get paid -right? Isn't that what volunteer work is?

pps - as to above, I am an American and what the first guy said is just not so - - I have no problem here.. and as to the 2nd person, teaching English is becoming tougher here due to visa restrictions..

check out jobs as a teacher. Most countries don't have too many requirements. there are lots of 'teach overseas' websites and they don't all require TEFL.
I got a job teaching English in Honduras, most will offer enough to do some travelling, but don't expect to save money.

good luck

Many foreigners do this - they get married to a Thai girl. Open a business registered under her name. And go on from there.
You have a business partner and a partner in bed. What more do you want?
