I have recently become very preoccupied and nervous about death. I feel bad for saying this, but I love the way my life is now and I am scared that I wont be able to enjoy those things in Heaven, like playing the clarinet, reading, sewing, baking, helping little kids and the poor (well it will be good that there will be no poor in Heaven), spending time with friends, shopping (I am NOT materialistic...I mean I barely have any $ as is, it was a huge mess that started the summer when I was 14 my family is just getting "back up and on our feet"), spending time alone with my mom, the rain (i find it peaceful), the change in seasons and so on.

I have tried praying but I have found no peace. I try to be the best Christian I possibly can be and nothing gets better : ( I am only 16 and I don't want to live the rest of my life with depression. I don't want my relationship with God to be ruined either. Please help!!
Thank you, God Bless and keeping you all in my prayers
Christine

Christine. Realize that your still young. God still has a lot things He wants to accomplish through you. Your loved beyond anything you can imagine. The things you enjoy here on earth cannot be equal to the joy we will experience in heaven. Heaven we'll be face to face with almighty God and His angels. There will be no pain, no death, no sorrow nothing bad can happen, nothing! The Lord knows that playing the clarinet, reading, sewing, baking, helping little kids are important to you. And what's important to you is important to Him too. You'll one day be able to play your clarinet for Him in heaven. All of the things you like on earth won't pass away once you've entered heaven. They'll just get better!

Tell God exactly how you feel and be honest with Him. Seek to please only Him and that's where you'll find lasting peace.

Christine, do you have a relationship with Jesus? If not, check into it. He is the only way any of us will get to heaven.

Heaven is going to be far better than any of us can ever imagine. The Bible says that this world is just a shadow of the new earth to come that we will live on in "heaven". Everything will be enhanced, immeasurably. There is a good book on the subject by Randy Alcorn, called "Heaven".
It uses scripture to put together a picture of what heaven will be like. We will enjoy everything we have now, and more!
Check it out, but be sure you know Christ first. He's our only way to heaven. Check this out:

Minnetta C, especially her first point, and stpolycarp777 have said what I wanted to say.

Don't take any notice of the two Mormons with their identical answers.

Heaven, by definition, MUST be (infinitely) better than earth. That means more exciting, interesting and enjoyable, just for starters.

"No eye has seen, nor any mind imagined, what God has in store for those who love Him." That's from the New Testament.

Read the Bible more, not less, but in a spirit of relaxation. Don't pressure yourself. Revelation, though quite difficult to understand, has the fullest descriptions of Heaven. I advise you to read it at your own pace and to ask God to show you what it means. There are many different interpretations of various parts of it; don't let others tell you how to interpret it, ask God.

The peace of the Lord be with you.

try not to worry so much about death...i was the same way for a time-in the space of a few years, i lost my grandparents, father, best friend, first girlfriend...one thing i learned is that little things mean a lot-going fishing with my little brother, swimming all day down at the lake, watching scary movies with my sisters, a good book...enjoy your life, enjoy being young...as you grow, you change in some ways...you find some things don't mean quite so much and other things mean more...read a bit of psalms, they're quite beautiful...i know you love Christ, and have been doing your best to be like Him...that is all you can do, really...some things you have to learn to just 'turn over' to Him...in doing for others, don't forget that Christine needs some attention, also...God bless you and thank you for your prayers-you have mine in return...

"Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy"

Don't let your joy be spoiled by fear... fear is of the Devil. go get what you want out of life, If you follow Jesus Christ and live his teachings, your joy will only increase... Heaven isn't somewhere were we just sit around and do nothing, we are actively inganged in a good cause. loving others, having families.

I invite you to check out http://mormon.org... Pray about the things you read. Truth can be made known to you from God... don't give up until you know you are a part of his church.

Consider this possibility: You are able to make heaven or hell for yourself right here on earth. The only thing we have for sure is this moment. So live this moment fully and try to recognize the beauty and value of every second. Every breath you take is another gift.

This is not the dress rehearsal, this is the show

i have had that problem before..and i still sometimes go back to the time when i get afraid of death. im sure if u believe that u will be able to enjoy those things, then im sure u will be able to. praying doesn't always do it...if ur afraid of ruining ur relationship..keep on praying but do other things to help urself move on...keep ur mind occupied or just think of all the good things in ur life ur grateful for and focus on that..
