I'm a sophmore, and I am pretty much a straight A student and i probally going to go to a community college nearby which i already know will accept me. So the queston is that should i even bother taking any harder classes? the only one that i am in is Honors Algebra II and next year i took Honors Pre-Calc and i am regretting it.

Absolutely, you should. For one thing, if you take classes that are below your level, you will die of boredom by your senior year. Secondly, getting into honors classes now makes it easier for you to get into honors classes at a community college, which will make it easier for you to transfer to a 4-year college and potentially even get good financial aid there. Alternately, with your grades, you could consider to a 4-year college right off the bat. There is a chance you could get a major scholarship. The road you are describing is appropriate for a B student, but I think you are selling yourself a little short.

If you have the ability, I think you should go for it. The idea behind advanced classes is to expand the mind, not to impress would-be educational institutions. That should only be a secondary consideration. Since you are a straight-A student, you will probably learn more and be challenged more by advanced classes than regular classes. You might well find yourself becoming bored if you take classes which are beneath your abilities.
