I'm going to try going one week with just low-fat milk, whole grain cereal, bananas, broccoli, and tea.

The way I see it, if you "crash diet" for a week, you are doing the same thing to your body as if you went on vacation and lived on fast food for 7 days.

And after 2 kids I'm ready to drop a few pounds. BTW, I'm 30 and a healthy vegetarian. But I'm a chunky vegetarian *shrugs*.

So what does everyone think of this?

Sounds ok, but vegetables aren't the problem. Add more vegetables and you will be fine. Watch out for CHEESE and high fat dairy and SUGAR. As long as you stay away from those 3 items, and ADD more variety of veggies that should be fine.

Good Luck!

Your crazy, for one everything you said makes no sense....Crash dieting is not healthy, and eating fast food for 7 days on vacation is crazy...and what good is being a vegetarian if your chubby, and eat fast food anyway. To lose weight and keep it off you need to change your diet, and not to the 5 items that you listed. First off you need protein, if you refuse to get it from meat then tofu, beans, certain soy products, but be careful because alot of these can sometimes be high in fat. You need Fat free milk, cut all that crazy dairy I'm sure you eat...and cereal allowed is cheerios, raisin bran, but only 1 cup and in the morning. Bananas are a no-no they have alot of sugar. Broccoli and tea are good. Don't crash diet though...change your eating habits slowly...2 things a week if you have to you will notice the difference. Start drinking alot of water, and only water and teas, don't drink empty calories. Also invest in protein shakes they will be a great way to supplement in between meals...just remember that your getting older and as a woman your body changes, and so should your habits, get some new ones, eat chicken!!!!!!

well for one week it won't be that bad, but it's not good for any longer. National Body Challenge had an entire family of vegetarians that needed to lose weight. try getting more exercise and not screwing up your diet. walk at least 30 minutes every day.

If you are a vegetarian, you should know better!
You should know you need protein in your diet.
I would say just continue on with your typical vegetarian diet with protein, and start working out. If you already work out, intensify it, or do it more often for longer. You could also decrease the amount of calories you eat each day.

Go to a doctor first. You only live once and take care of your body first. Take no chance with a diet until you see your doctor, very very important.

As long as you eat enough of it all!

Some people start those and become obsessed with dieting, then start to eat less and less.
