So far there isn't a third party firewall available for Vista. Just be sure that Vista's firewall is turned on.

Windows Vista will give their recommendations on their website and some of them you can take for try run for 90 days but I think Computer Associates (CA) is the most accurate although it is a little bit annoying. According to the settings, It will ask for you permission for everything that comes in or out the internet port. Those pop up windows will drive you crazy. After a while it learns what you want and leaves you alone. The only problem is that after the download and installed, if you want to deinstall it, CA will do it best to stay put in your computer. You really need to know your way around the computer to get rid it of it. For me, I had Windows Vista Home Premium but it gave me so many headaches that I went back to XP and upgraded to XP Pro. I will wait two years the most until all of the bugs of Vista are depleted to try again.
