Are you sure she's in labor? Physical signs of labor include restless pacing, panting, excessive grooming (especially in the area of her genitals), and excessive vocalization. She'll go find a nice quiet corner when she goes into active labor.

Birth may be near, and it is normal for her to try to catch a nap before hard labor comes on. Depending on how many she's having, it's not unusual for labor to last up to 24 hours, so she's going to need all the rest she can get now.

ETA: Do give you vet a call if you think she's in active labor and is still sleeping.

i need some more info has she squatted and then laid down this is hard labour. if not she may be in the early stages of labour. do not leave her to struggle for more than 15min with nothing happening you could lose her and the kittens. i strongly suggest you speak to your vet again now and get her checked as what you are describing is not normal for a cat in labour. she will need a c-section to save her and the kittens and get her spayed at the same time.

No need to worry yet. If she is actively trying to push a kitten out and nothing happens within 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours, then it could be an emergency and you should see a vet. Not common for cats to have problems unless it's a persian type. Keep her quiet and keep an eye on things.

Cats can actually have kittens for about 2 days, unless you see her in too much pain or struggling too much or a kitten just hanging out of her butt. I wouldn't worry about it. Having babies is very tiring. I have personally had a cat have 4 kittens seem like she is completely done and the next day have 2 more. Just relax. Cats have been having kittens forever and a day now :) Congrats. Get momma cat fixed after kittens are weened.

Thank God you have a vet on hand to call and visit should the need arise.
There are a lot of people out there like you that do not even have a vet for their pregger's cat.
I once knew a kid who lived in a rooming house who's cat got out and got pregger's and gave birth in his dresser drawer.

That's OK but he was selling crack out of the room and smoking it in there to while she was in the dresser nursing her kids! At least the drawer was closed! Some protection..

Scumbag to the 100th degree huh? I eventually got him to get the brood out of the room. A neighbor took them in. I moved a few weeks later. I hope they were ok..Poor kitty's. I loved them. I bought momma all kinds of yummy, good cat food and fed her formula to help keep her milk strong and healthy after the birth. I cuddled her and the kittens a lot.

On to your sweet kitty...

She'll be OK sweetie, she is hurting and a little scared. ALL mammals hurt in the labor process. Hurt like hell actually. And it is normal to get sick that is why they prohibit food in the hospital during active labor..

Comfort her, give her lots of cool water, lots of cushy, clean towels, etc..Soothing, soft music in the room helps too, soft lighting, etc..I wish the vet could help her labor pains..Poor kitty..

Let us know how it turns out OK?

She won't give birth if you keep watching her. She needs to be put in a quiet corner and left alone. Back off and give her some space. Keep everyone away until the morning.

The cat may just be tired. The sma ething happens with adult women. I suggest you go to the vet though just in case and get it checked out.
