well they say 2 eat smaller portions..but what should I eat??

can you please give me a list of things I could eat and when i should eat them..

like what should I eat for breakfast?

snack?

lunch??

dinner????


well snacks could be liek a carrot..but yea I guess you get the point..

and what should I do 2 flatten my tummy and kinda slim down my thighs..im a pear shape,small on top and BIG on the
bottom )=..i want 2 look balenced,lol.so yea I know this is alot but PLEASE HELP

I'm no expert so thats my disclaimer. From what I have observe most diets fail. The reason being is that some diets are unrealistic. We humans are animals that cannot be force to do things. So, people force themselves on a diet but after a while human nature kicks in and BAM!!! back the weights comes. There are only two things that have been proven to work to loose weight. Diet and exercise.

On excersice:
Do not choose an activity to loose weight. Instead choose an activity that you like to do that is exercised based. It could be walking, hiking, playing sport or whatever. The most important thing is that you enjoy doing it because if you don't you are setting yourself up for failure. For example some people don't like the threadmill because they rather go outside and walk. If this is the case then go outside and walk don't waste the money on a machine that doesn't make you happy. Also, the environment is important. If you are going to join a gym then see how the people that are there match your personality. You have to feel comfortable doing your activity.

Ok, once you have chosen the activity you like doing then keep one thing in mind. Even if you are tired go do it. The reason being is that once you get there you will do the excercise and will not feel as tire as you though. This was tough to me by a friend. He said, 99% of the time you will not regret going. However, you will regret not going 100% of the time unless you are sick which then is justifiable. Always, go and remember to have fun because if its not fun is not worth doing.

On diet.

I'm not a dietician but I can tell you to forget all the fad diets. None of them work. If they did then there would be only one method in existance that would brake the other systems out of the market. You strategy is to start simple. Here are a couple of rules.

1) most important one do not starve yourself. Eat. Go ahead, we where meant to eat not starve.

2) Eliminate as much junk as possible. No donuts, beer, any junk food. Bake rather than fry.

3) Avoid eating outside. Most food outside are high on everything from salt to fat. Its better to make your own food as much as possible.

4) Try to include vegetables in your meals. Even if just a little, some peas, corn, lettuce are the easy onces. Esparagus, spinach and what not. The darker the better. When eating a salad go easy on the dressing. Remember that your stomach is only so big so if you eat vegetables there will be less space for the junk so you will eat less of it (the junk).

5) Go ahead give yourself a threat. Do not deny yourself a threat. You want chocolate cake then eat the chocolate cake. The trick is not every day and not the whole cake right. Maybe you can have cake Friday. A reward for that time spent in the gym. Remember is a treat not a pig out. Denying yourself a treat is setting yourself up for failure. Is human psycology.

6) On snacks. I see a lot of people eating carrots to loose wirgh as snacks. Usually these does not last too long. The reason is that most people don't like carrots. I don't. I mean I can eat carrots as part of a dish but not by themselves. It is pointless to force yourself to eat something you do not like. Again, setting yourself up for failure. Eat something you like. For example, I like oranges. Nobody has to force me to eat them because I love them. There easy solution. Another thing is to choose an alternate brand of the food you like. You like ships. Great!!! but how about choosing a brand that is lower in colesterol and fat. Try a few brands to see which one tastes good to you.

7) Vegy foods. There are a lot of products that are meat imitations usually made ut of soy. Like anything, some of the products taste rather good and some don't. My wife buys me some veggy corndogs. Also, vegy burgers, and vegy chicken strips. I won't lie to you and tell you that they taste the same exact way. They taste a little bit different than the real deal. Don't look at it as "OH! is not a real burger" Well, duh! is not" But, it has its own particular taste that also tastes good. There are days I crave this new taste and there are days I want the real deal. The thing is that every time I eat the fake stuff is one more meal that is more nutrisious for me when compared to the real deal.

The main idea here is understand that you are human and have flaws and weaknesses. What you have to do is not torture yourself. You are making small sacrifises. Is not the same saying I'll never do X or Y thing as opposed to I won't do X or Y thing this week. A weeks of sacrifices is very achievable. A lifetimes takes a lot of discipline. But a week can turn into 2 weeks, then a month, then a year and before you know it you achieved your goal.

This is what I told someone else who wanted the same advice:::
just recently met with a Health gu and he gave me some advice.
The myth about eating MORE is true.
You really need to eat about every 2-3 Hours.
Here is what I do.
It works for me and I have been dieting for about 6 weeks and have lost 10 pounds.
You need to start reading labels... Not alot but for things where it's right on the box you might as well keep track.
Other things like dinner and lunch are harder to count the calories....


For breakfast I usually have (7 to 8am):
Bowl of Granola or "Healthy Cereal" with a 1/2 banana or somekind of fruit.
OR a scrambled egg on toast with a slice of cheese.
This should be about 300 Calories...

At 10:30 I have a snack:
1/2 C Cottage Cheese OR
Yogurt OR
Piece of Fruit OR
Granola bar (if I didnt have granola for breakfast)
No More than 200 Calories

For lunch (12:00 - 1:00) I usually have a sandwich.
Anything will do just DONT GET MAYO (hard to get used to at first but worth it.
Ham or Turkey or Tuna sandwich
With Mustard (no Mayo)
Lettuce, & Tomato (two veggie servings)
I eat HALF of my sandwich and then I try to just take like a two minute break. Sometimes, I wont even eat the other half but sometimes I will.
About 500 to 600 Calories is fine for lunch!

3:30 - Snack
The other half of my sandwich
OR one of the thing mentioned above or sometimes I try to have something sort of sweet.
Sugar free Pudding or Jello
Sorbet
High Sugar Fruit like a banana or pears or an avocado.
No more than 200 Calories

Dinner is just sensible. You've got about 700 to 900 calories left to use.
It's not really about what you eat, but watch your portions.
Satisfy your hunger but EAT slow, you'll fill up faster.
It's is okay to have a nice well rounded dinner.
If you deprive yourself, you will just end up cheating and having a big bowl of ice cream at midnight..... ha ha.

I have found that with eating the snacks, your just not as hungry at meal time and so you will eliminate over eating at meals. I have a box of Kashi Cereal at work an when I get hungry I just pour myself a little and nibble (no milk) this way it satisfies the need to have something in your mouth.
Get some Jolly Ranchers. They are not alot of calories and sucking on one makes the craving to eat go away.
