I'd appreciate not getting any non-answers from a *certain religion* asking me what I am doing about it. I give what I can, and I never miss an election.

Please, just answer the question. Thank you :)

The implicit question you are trying to ask is, 'How come we still believe in God inspite of all these?'.

People have their own reasons. Some because they are brainwashed and some because they have had personal experiences. But mostly because they weren't exposed to these events themselves.

So many children in Africa are dying for a myriad of reasons. The one that tops the list is political conditions.

To address those issues, we need leaders who feel that pain in positions where they can decide on it. There are those like Mother Theressa who has done an incredible job at taking care of the sick and the needy for so many years. She believed in God and did so much for everyone around her. One person can indeed change the world.

And on the other hand we have all these tele-evangelists whose only real goal is to make more money, for themselves and for their own hatred filled ideas. What difference does it make if two men who love each other marry. Do you rather want those two men to marry your daughters instead. Why are they spending billions (yes billions) of dollars on that political topic if they are God's people.

Give to Caesars' what is Caesar's and to God what is God's. Ring a bell? They say Jesus died for our sins. He died for us to realize that we are sinning and to make us change from our ways.

And where do these groups in Africa get their guns and tanks and bombs from. A lot of those groups get them from here, from America. Even Al-Qaeda was created by the US to fight Russians. And you know what, the so called liberals are trying for gun control and de-nuclearization. The so-called liberal movie stars are fighting against genocide in Darfur. What about that.

Just carrying a bible and saying Jesus's name is not enough. What is important that you follow his path of non-violence and spread togetherness. I am not a Christian but I do my bit to help. I certainly want to do more but I do my tiny share.

I think He's disappointed in those of us all over the world who could help and can't be bothered. We can get new cars, new tv's, have plastic surgery to look like everyone else, but we can't seem to be bothered by starving children. Of course, if it really bothered us, we'd have to go on antidepressants, and then of course, we'd all be too drugged up to do any good anyway. We're a generation of selfish humans. So, no, those kids are not dissapointments, we are. I'm glad you vote, but we need a lot more to actually help those people than going to vote. Our politicians, the one who actually want to help, are concerned with this country, they have no power in Africa. I know we could actually do something, but we haven't. Look at the attempts to get food to Darfur, the muslim extemists steal the food and kill the people trying to get it to the starving people. Same happens in Africa. I just read the other day that the biggest hindrance in one province is the ruler, he refuses help because he simply doesn't care if the people are dying. His army has confiscated all the food that was sent, and no, they're not distributing it except to the highest bidder.

I've seen a couple of posters who seem to think its the parents fault for having kids. Apparently, these people have no clue what its like over there. They don't have the education or the money to get birth control. This is a place where men with Aids rape girls just to give them aids. They don't understand why they got the disease, so they get mad and want to share it. Great, huh? Point being, its not the US where everyone gets an education, where we can go to the nearest store and just buy condoms or get on the pill. Most of the parents are young themselves, not educated in birth control, not educated to get jobs. Many make their livings farming, which is impossible without rain. So basically, they get married, work their little farm plots and are happy. Babies start comming, they see life is good. Then no rain, no food, no resources, hungry kids and then starvation.

Our church takes a regular collection for food for Africa. The women of our church make mosquito nets for the pregnant women, to help them keep from getting malaria. Our kids had their own collection this year to buy them chickens, goats, etc., to provide some eggs and milk. We're doing what we can, but its not enough.

People (with the exception of anorexics) do not choose to starve, they starve because they don't have any food. There are other organizations out there as well that help, like www.invisiblechildren.com

oh and by the way to whoever said that they've never seen wiccans or satanists out helping children... how could you be so naive. If you haven't noticed, Wiccans and Satanists do not have large structures of organization like Christians do. Does that mean that we, the "un-helpful" do nothing? No. Let me give an example. I happen to be Wiccan. Tomorrow, I am spending the entire day volunteering at an event and raising money to help the displaced and war-torn children in Northern Uganda. Does that sound selfish to you?

Yes, God is disappointed that so many children in Aftica are starving. The only way to stop this is to provide for them ourselves. People could stop spending money on entertainment, stop spending money on excessive food, stop spending money on cigarettes, liquor, and porn. This would help tremendously.

Or we could just all give 1/10th of our earnings back to God as He has asked us to and let our churches take care of these children through our donations. But who wants to give to these funds? Maybe it is only the Christians who are asked to be the hands and feet of Jesus?

Hi there.

I think you are confusing "ontic evil" with "moral evil." Free will has to do with moral evil which is called sin. Sin is what disappoints God and causes man to loose sanctifying grace. Ontic evil is defined as the limits inherent in being limited creatures and not God. Since man has no control over ontic evil, he is not responsible before God for its coming about. However, morally, ontic evil poses a dilemma because man can choose not to respond to those who are in need. So, for example... famine... ontic evil. People not responding to those in need during the famine... moral evil of the order of a sin of omission.

Thanks for giving what you can to fight hunger. God bless you.

I'm not sure. But God certainly must have invented Malaria, which kills far more.

On the bright side, God apparently instructed Bush to ask for $30B to fund care for AIDS stricken people in Africa.

I see the intent behind the question. It's concealed well in a wrapper that shakes an exposed nerve within us.
I will abide by you request about responding, although it does beg a response about a creator and free will.

God is disappointed and grieved that so many people worldwide are either denied access and education about Christianity, or willfully refuse it. Either way, not knowing Christ withholds the protection and blessing of God, be it through idols or ignorance. Many of them have their choices made for them, such as the godless muslims forcing people into subjugation to a false religion, and those will suffer less in hell than the willfully stubborn rejectors.
