why dont some christians and most catholics use god's name? Do you know that his name means many things. His name alone gives us reasons of why we should worship him. He even encourages us to draw close to him. how can you draw close to someone when you dont know theyre name nor do you use it. besides he wants us to use his name. he says that whoever calls on his name will be saved.if you would like to know his name or have any comments about this please email me.

Actually, Catholics are among the few who are starting to. The New Jerusalem Bible uses Yahweh instead of substituting LORD according to the ancient Jewish custom.
If you are going to say that the true name is "Jehovah", you are not quite correct. There was no sound like English "J" in Hebrew, and the vowels in Jehovah are actually the ones from the Hebrew word "Lord" which were placed around the divine name to prevent it being pronounced. Unfortunately, English translators of the Bible in the King James era didn't know this and produced a word that was impossible in Hebrew.

Jehovah is one of many names that was given to God. Does it really matter if your child calls you Mom or mother or mommy or mama. You recognize him when he calls you any of these names.

what's wrong with just calling Him God? He is after all kinda of complex (Trinity, so many names in Hebrew).
I'd rather not go about saying Yahweh Shalom, El Shaddai, Elohim, etc when i can just say "the Godhead". Jehovah is only the Father btw
not everyone who cries "Abba, Father" will be saved. you have to be born again

We do use his name ----God. Or Jesus. We do not mind calling him Jehovah but mostly we like to call him Father.

his name is kind of generic.. kind of like naming a dog "Dog", only christians named their god "God"
