the wedding feast at cana is the first recorded miracle. at the request/intercession of mary:-)

this miracle shows christs power over the elements and is a strong evidence for the eucharist in which the bread and wine are truly changed to the body and blood of christ. this is the sign of the new covenant, just as the rainbow was the sign for the covenant with noah, circumcision for abrahams covenant etc.........god bless

i forgot to say the miracle was turning water into wine, oops lol.

We do not know what his first miracle was but, his first PUBLIC miracle was at the wedding in Cana. It was at the request of his Mother Mary who is always concerned with peoples both material and spiritual needs.

It depends on which Gospel you are looking at, but what comes to mind is the wedding feast at Cana where Mary intervened. It does say that Jesus' public ministry had not yet begun, but John's gospel is also more of a theological text than a "historical" one.

Turning Water in to Wine. For Mary

It is actually if read correctly one of the funniest stories in the Bible. Here is the poor Jewish Boy and his Mom Nagging him

"Jesus they are out of wine"

"Mom? What do you want me to do? It is not my time yet"

So he tells her no and she turns around and tells the waiters

"Do whatever he says"

And like a good Jewish Boy He ends up doing what his Mom told him to do.

Great story not only showing Jesus' love of us but his real deep love for his mother. He does what she asks even though He was not yet ready to go "public" A Good Son

It was to change water to the wine and it was His mother's idea. It was before His time to perform them, but as a good boy He did it anyway. So God listen to us and is considered for our affairs. : )
