I sold the house 10 years ago after my mother passed on and although I know another family lives there, they haven't moved in yet (in these dreams). The front of the house always looks different but the inside is the same except that sometimes, I come upon a furnished room that in my dreams, I never knew about, located underneath the living room.

This was our family home for 35 years - am I homesick?

You are feeling empty, disconnected from your childhood. The house is you. You are somehow selling yourself short, but you're still safe; you've left out intrusions, so you can repair.

Outside, you like to wear different masks, in some ways, protecting yourself; yet you're confident of a grounded and familiar core inside you.

The furnished room is your potential; it's a great part of you, an exciting discovery, waiting to be "opened," explored, used. The fact that it is underneath the "living room," means that it's more than just everyday life, but it's part of your life; it's a mystery waiting to be unfolded.

Are you homesick? What is the tone of your dream? Does it feel exciting, sad; do you feel longing as you approach your house? Do you feel secure and warm and happy in your childhood home? Only you can answer those questions.

I think it's about you, not the home, and you're feeling a bit "sick" to find out new corners of discovery; they frighten you, and they entice you.

Wow! I have the :"room dreams" too. A house I know, but with a room I never new existed. What condition is your room in, what about the furniture? In my dreams the room represents where I presently am in life. If the room is sunny and nice, Life is good. If the room needs repair, I need to make some changes. Or maybe I have feelings of loss or emptiness. It's much like your own personal space, just as the issues you face daily are your own to deal with or discuss as you choose. Don't settle for a generic answer on this room dream. I think if you look inside yourself you will find what it means.

I think it's just your sub concious reminding you of those times. You aren't neccisarly homesick - when something is the norm for so long it becomes engrained into you.

It sounds as if there is something from your childhood that you miss and you are dealing with the reality that it won't come back.
