Try putting a relaxer in for your new growth hair only! You can then keep flat ironing the ends and your edges will be straight because of the relaxer.

ok...not really sure I understand what you mean by "edges are hard to do". however, here's what i normally do for straightening my hair:

first, put a straightener type product in your hair, I like tigi Bed head product the best.

2nd, blow dry hair completely with a big flat brush to try and smooth out as much as you can.

3rd, starting from the bottom underside, clip hair up and work your way to the top in small sections. I usually use those clippy alligator things that salons use to hold up my hair. And just start working up to the top of my head.

I have layered hair now days, so I can't get it as straight as before, but good enough.

Good Luck!
