I have been to Bristol for a race and been to two Michigan races. I think the excitement of all the banging and bumping of the short track racing is better. The cars may not get up to as high of speeds yet when I seen the race at Bristol, I could see the whole track, where at MIS, I could not see the whole track because peripheral vision is not that large.

Well, I'm more of a middle of the fence kind of guy. I like the 1 1/2 mile tracks best, one reason being that my favorite driver (Jimmie Johnson) dominates them. The racing seems to be pretty good without as many cautions as the short tracks and the poorer handling cars don't get lapped in the first 15-20 laps. Last year Bristol was boring with all the laps they completed under caution. I do like Martinsville because it's more of a finesse track on account of the lack of banking. Restrictor plates just tick me off and I don't find them near as enjoyable when they just line up and go for long periods of time. There are aspects to all that can make for an exciting race but Lowe's, Atlanta, Chicagoland and Darlington are probably my favorites.

I've been to both Bristol Motor Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway and though I loved watching the races at both tracks I will say that Bristol wins this one by far. I feel the racing is much more intense on short tracks... you make one little mistake at a short track and next thing you know you're 25 laps down. I think that short tracks are the ones that really bring out the driver's that are the best. Takes a lot of talent to drive a car at ANY track though.

I've been to both, yet i live in Bristol and go to that race twice a year. Super speedways are good, but short tracks are the best to go to. At Bristol there is not a bad seat in the house. Also the racing is so exciting that u are on the edge of your seat just waiting for the next wreck, and the drivers get hot with each other, and start to force there way through traffic.

The shorter tracks without a doubt. A lot more side by side racing happens here. Superspeedways are just too alike and the cars get too spread out, however some good finishes are possible. But at the end of the day, I will always prefer a short track. They have more character.

I have never been to a superspeedway but I would like to go to one. I have been to Bristol and Martinsville and I love the short track views. At these tracks, you can see every part of the track from anywhere in the stands. Plus there is always bumping and banging which makes the race very exciting. If you have never been to a short track my only advice is to go and wear earplugs!!

I'd have to say that, other than Atlanta and Texas, (I live in Texas), I like the short tracks. Since the playing field has become so level, a lot of the super-speedway races have gotten a bit boring. I really like Bristol. I think about everyone does. Talledega??? It's become just waiting to see whether or not there's gonna be the "big one".
I haven't been fortunate enough to get to a short track race. I've been to both Texas and Talledega a couple times and they were both great. Texas because it's so fast, and Dega because the infield parties are so wild.
I wish they'd bring back "The Rock". That was always one of my favorites.

I like the 2 original big guys 2.5 2.6 or to put it simply about all the old tracks where it all started. It's to bad Riverside is no longer around too.
I don't watch a lot of the races anymore because of the new boring track that infested nascar.
The new cookie cutter tracks that that are built just to pack 180,000 people in with no character should be bulldozed over and turned into dumps.

Nascar has pretty much taken the fun out of watching Superspeedway races with the plates and no bumping rules so its fun the first 20 laps and the last 10 laps but other than that I thought this years spring race was a yawn fest. I like the shorter tracks because of the tight room they have to race but again nascar is making even that boring with the new COT car that runs slower than the busch cars. I am starting to watch more busch races now because I like their cars better plus they are faster with usually alot more drama.

I've never been to a live race, but I'm hoping to go to the Texas Motor Speedway this year in November!!!
And I agree with you, I know that Bristol is a crazy race and I like it, but I've always preferred the super-speedways, maybe because the leaders aren't jumbled in with the back 20 as much (that gets irritating) and I love to see them go 3 sometimes 4 wide!!!
