mr. Nothing--- pretty good answer except for:
!) In "reality" the grass is every color but green because you brain works on Subtractive color
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subtractive_color
For example, when viewed under a white light, a red apple appears red. However, this doesn't mean that it emits red light, as would be the case in additive color. If it did, one would be able to see it in the dark. Rather, it absorbs some of the wavelengths that make up white light, reflecting only the wavelengths that humans see as red. Humans perceive the apple as red because of how their eye works, and how their brain interprets information from the eye.
2) Even if an external creator made the grass so your mind would perceive it as "green" there is no way to find out if what your mind sees is the same as what my mind sees. All you can know is that what both of us see is what we've been taught to call green. You're almost there. Think again.

if green were your imagination we would have a hard time agreeing on it wouldn't we? although the label "green" may not truly represent it substantially, those who know these labels as distinctions understand and agree upon one or another color. It takes a little thought. Try not to always be the center of attention and realize that many people are looking at one thing. Think the thing back to the observors. Control over their thoughts will not change the color of the object, but only make you many blind people laughing instead of one. It will not change the truth of what is actually real. Dont listen to whoever said you make it green, because they are self centered, and their views will embaress them. They also propagate something that is extraordinarily stupid in a very special way. Green is the word you have learned for it. We could change all the words for colors, but by getting together and agreeing upon them we understand that they are all real things, and also that our vision will recognize these certain things amoung many consistantly and at random. We're not trying to just confuse people here. Amoung some this can become a very embarrasing problem. You are not the master who makes grass green, and even if you make everyone believe green is drhujile, you have only changed the word for what the grass obviously is. Other people are also not the ones who have made the grass green, that is the visual reality of grass. Even if you dont know that people call it green in order to communicate with one another, it simply is what it is. Since colors are on a wheel, we recognize them in light of one another, but enough of that. People do not make the grass green, animals and other plants dont either. You could say that reality makes grass its own distinguishable shade. Even if we destroy people who dont use our word for green, and isolate ourselves from everybody else, it will still be its own distinguishable shade. Then we would have to destroy all the grass and pretend this highly embarrasing problem didn't exist (that being reality). A better way to solve these problems (& I mean actually solve them) is to be open to understanding what everyone else knows. When our views become so important that we would lash out at everything else (& I mean everything else) we dont understand or grow, we stay lost, and no progress can be made. Do not become so self centered as to think you are the one, or to make yourself the one who decides anything in this way, you would be making a sad mistake. Enough of this. Because of the way light is and the way grass developed in light of its surroundings it became green, because of chlorophyll. The grass, you could say made itself green, not by choosing colors(as the grass has no mirror or eye to see, and neither a preferance in color.)
but by changing and living the best way it possibly could. By doing its best in life, and as a part of life, the grass became a lovely shade of green. The greener the grass is the healthier it is, green is a color of life, and it makes sense next to dead things, yellow, brown, etc. The green grass has lived well, unafraid to grow, and shine its own distinguishable light brightly! So whoever is the master that makes grass green must be the master of its conditions. The grass did its best to live life, and it was by being green and growing out of the ground. The master who made things this way must have also made the conditions for grass to grow in, and the conditions before them. Inevitably it was the supreme being who chose for grass to be green. If light and plant life were different there would perhaps be blue grass, or pink grass. The master who made grass green truthfully and ultimately was the supreme being who set all life in motion, according to his good will.

You. You interpret what you see of the grass in this world. Your imagination represents certain wavelengths of light to your sentience as the color green.
