Unless the bone in your toe is sticking thru the skin, there's nothing that can be done for a broken toe. Take some tylenol for the pain. Wrap the broken toe snugly with an adjacent toe, and keep it wrapped for several days. If there's a lot of swelling, try ice on the toe every 15 minutes. Advil (ibuprofen) will also help with inflammation and swelling.

If your toe is broken to the point that it is protruding thru the skin and see the bone, THEN you need to go to the doctor. If dad won't take you if this is the case, call child welfare services.

Just wondering why your dad won't take you? Maybe you played a trick on him before. Best to see a doctor if your toe is really broken.

They cannot do anything for a broken toe!! The only thing you can do is get a strip of plaster and then tape the injured toe to the next toe.

This will keep it still and support it.

hi, are you in alot of pain?...if so try explaining to your dad just how much pain this is causing you...maybe he thinks the problem is minor so you should try convincing him otherwise. whether a&e will appreciate a broken toe or not is not the issue despite what some have said...you know yourself whether you should go to a&e, plus you must be worrying otherwise you wouldn't have asked the question in the first place.
ring nhs direct if unsure what to do...they should be able to advise. if you can then reaproach your dad about your worries.
take care.

U need to make sure you rest it and put ice on it for 20 min or less to reduce the swelling and keep your foot up. An x-ray will tell if u broken your toe or not,

im afraid to tell tht even if u went to a&e u would spend a long time waiting for an x ray and then all they will do is bind yr bad toe and the one next to it.so get yr dad to get a small band aid or micropore tape and tape them together unless u really wanna sit in a&e for hours??? if so go by yrself or get a friend to take u.... hope its better soon

For a broken toe, most A&E departments will send you home. They may tape it to the next toe, they may not.

You should strap it up to the toe naxt to it use plaster the one you buy on a roll and leave it like that for at least a week, because that is all they will do in A&E.
