Drink juice or water instead. And to still have a fizz you can add seltzer water to juice.

Substitution. I had the same problem with drinking Sprite. I just started drinking juices all the time. It's perfect because it is still sweet but good for you in some cases. After a while, begin drinking water. In then end, you'll begin to prefer more water therefore diluting so much sugar intake.

Try having seltzer water with lemon, lime, orange slices or even strawberry slices. It's delicious, it'll get you used to drinking water instead of soda, and hopefully it will help you not miss the thirst cutting effects of bubbles.
The trick more than anything is figuring what part of the soda you're craving and finding a substitute. I hope that the suggestion helps!

When I was trying to stop, I did a dead stop. Then if I ever caught myself drinking it, I would dump some of my food or something inside it, to make it too nasty to drink.
To be able to give it up, you have to want to give it up. Find a new favorite drink which doesn't have a lot of calories or nearly as much sugar. I really like propel, and just plain water, with maybe some lemon and a packet of splenda.
Good luck!

I quit drinking soda cold turkey (after a loooong habit) about 10 years ago. I replaced it with sparkling water. All the fizz, none of the sugar. And on another plus, I got plenty of water!

Drink sparkling water (Pelegrino) with fresh lime slices instead. You will still get the fizz and some flavor. Soda is really really bad for you - don't drink it.

I used to drink 5-6 Diet Cokes a day, quit cold turkey :P
I went and bought the little drink packets that you poor into bottles of water and you shake the bottle a bit to mix it, tastes great and is easy/quick.
(Now i dont like to drink plain water though, always want to put one of those packets in there...)
