a world with freewill and no bad, or "evil"... This concept may be a little abstract for our human brains to understand, but couldn't a god - who can do anything, i hear - figure out a way to do this?

Great question to which you will either get incomprehensible or irritated answers. If there is such a thing as God and if he is pure goodness then it seems to be a contradiction that he could create something which was evil. If he is both omniscient and good then he could and should have made a world free of evil. He would also be absolutely capable of making a world in which its inhabitants thought that they had free will but could only act according to principles which did not produce evil. So you are right that these things should be possible and there are no rational answers I have seen which provide convincing grounds otherwise.

He could...but dealing with the reality in which we exist---he didn't.

Why?

Probably for the very same reason that we won't find that heaven is a place where we sit around all day and praise God and strum harps, etc., or that it is a eternal place of rest, and all the other descriptions that are given.

Why?

Because God and us would simply be bored out of our ever-livin' skulls--that's why.

We are here to have experience--to learn, grow--and make mistakes...and the world around us--both the bad and the good exists to stimulate us.

We must either be moving forward (good) or moving backwards (evil)...

Hint: Note that the word "evil" is "live" spelled backwards--hence, evil is life or living in such a way that takes you backwards.

If we had no evil, then we would know no good.

Ciao

read this and read this good because this is the last time i will answer a question of this sort. you said a world with free will and no bad or evil. first of all that doesnt make sense because it is with free will that the bad exist because with free will comes the choice between doing something good or soemthing bad. it is with the free will that we can show God that we love him but choosing only to do good. second to make the world without evil or where nothing bad happens. ok this is simple if the world was always good and great without evil and it wouldnt be called earth but heaven, it is with the bad that we appreciate the good. you nkow someone who knows someone who just died, that makes you appreciate the loved ones that you have and also is a reminder to tell them every day that you love them. there is a hurricane and you have no electricity, this makes you be grateful for the time that you have electricity. you are at work and you are working hard, this makes you appreciate the weekend where you can do wahtever you want. you have no job and finally you have one, the fact that you didnt have a job will make you work harder and appreciate the fact that now you do have a job and can pay your bills. finally you see a kid in the hospital born with Down Syndrom, you think God every single day that your kids are healthy! simple with the good comes the bad. it's up to us to create as much good as possible.. Peace be with you!

God made man WITH the will to choose. Even though at the time man was created there were already TWO Wills operating and in action. GOd's perfect will and Satan's peverted will. If i were God i may not have created man with the freedom to choose. BUT God is noble and fair. He STILL made man with the will to choose the KNOWLEGDGE GOOD AND EVIL or LIFE as seen in the two trees.
TOday we still make that choice. We can choose to merely Know ABOUT good or evil things.. or we can Taste and EAT of CHrist as the Tree of Life and Live.
Up to us

Well that would be partial free will. You would be only able to do good in different ways. However one has to think if there is a perfect way of doing something or the best way why doesn't God just makes us do that? But then you're back to no free will again. So I think total free will suits best.

Because if there was not an opposition in all things you could not have agency to choose right over wrong and prove yourself therein that you are worthy (through Christ) to return to the presence of the Father. This life is a test...a time to prepare to meet God. We chose to be here and we again have the opportunity to chose if we want to return to our Father's presence.

Funny, how the sheeple have little capacity to think outside the box, no???

It is likely that your children have toys. It is highly unlikely that your children have ever been completely devoid of toys in their lives.....yet Im certain that you can ask a child what having no toys would be like, and they would know it is BAD (or suffering, or evil) So, evil doesnt actually HAVE TO EXIST in order for uus to understand it.

"Because people make evil, not God." (Well, then, obviously, why did God create people capable of making evil?)

"Because Satan is the Prince of this World and he makes evil." (So who made Satan? God, I would imagine. So why did God create Satan capable of making evil?)

"Because God wants us to make the choice between good and evil and come to Him of our own free will." (Well, doesn't that make God a little insecure? He creates beings merely to test their devotion?)

"Because..." Because whatever. The real answer is that there is no answer, because this "God" who concerns Himself with mundane human affairs simply does not exist, save in the minds of people who want to speak on His behalf.

Uhh...you HAVE freewill fella. He created a world with free will, noone is forced to worship Him and even believe in Him as far as that goes. Do you not wake up every morning and make your own decisions about what you choose to do that day? He also made a sin free world in the begining, and because of mankinds free will, man chose evil and brought it into the world.

He did. When Adam and Eve were first in the garden, there was no evil and they were given free will.

When they disobeyed God that was done because of their free will to do so. To have free will, there has to be a choice. Otherwise there would be no choice. It would be decided for us.
