I'm a Pentecostal and feel that you can't really say anything negative about any religion until you've experienced it first hand. I was frightened the first time I attended a Pentecostal church. It was something I've never ever witnessed before in my life. After that hurdle I was fine. I like the Pentecostal religion and the way they worship. I feel that its done me good!

The gift of speaking in tongues had a purpose in the time of the apostles. That purpose was to establish the Christian congregation.Once that was established the gifts were to end.1Â Corinthians 13:8 The message was spread to many lands and in many languages. After the apostles died the other gifts of ,laying of hands, ceased also.Speaking in tongues is the main belief of this religion. This Pentecostal teaching, however, does not have Scriptural backing.

We are based on the idea that the Holy Spirit is alive and that He is still at work today. We believe the Holy Spirit is God, part of the Holy Trinity, and that He is alive in us. His power is still very relevant and has influence on everything that happens, some things that some would consider un-natural. The idea of a God working today, equipping us for a very real battle, is scary to many people. We are firm in believing that there is One God and He is the only way to eternal life.We are radical, at times too much-so for some believers, but that is because we are passionate about the God we serve andf we want all the World to know who He is.

The Trinitarian Pentecostals are the closest of all protestants to Catholic theology. The oneness Pentecostals are closer to the Arian Jehovah witnesses in their beliefs. I like to worship with Pentecostals.

They believe in being saved through faith which is good. However, they do not practice the gift of tongues properly. The Biblical examples of speaking in tongues were always people speaking in a real language, not gibberish, vomiting, passing out, screaming, ect.... A person speaking in tongues had to remain silent unless someone was able to interpret what they were saying, and what was said had to be for edification and couldn't contradict scripture. The gifts of tongues and prophesy was meant to be a temporary gift that became less common as God's Word (the Bible) became readily available.

i spent 26 years in the foursquare which is pentecostal. I would never go back. I love the music but the people are screwed up. Their views are a little wacked on the whole. There are things about faith, healing, tongues that i find a little ridiculous....

I am not sure about the speaking in tongues and the wild miracles that seem to only happen in this particular denomination, but other than that I agree with most of their theology.
But Benny Hinn is possessed by an evil spirit.

I love the Pentecostal Religion because the gift of tongues has set me free! They taught me how to worship God and how to fast and pray, so that God answers my prayers.

How should I feel about it? My sister and her family are Pentecostal as well as a friend of mine. I feel they are another branch of the old Christian tree.
