haha, ive known that stuff for years now. i believe that this manmade global warming thing is without a doubt the biggest lie ever told to mankind. People who actually believe we are causing it/making it faster kind of make me feel sad for them. They believe everything they hear on from all these environmental groups with alternate agendas, and governement agencies collecting millions every year from their fear-mongering campaigns to get money. It sickens me that people don't even try to look at both sides of an issue. There is no proof anything that man does is causing an increase in warming. Cause its certaintly not CO2 seeing as how temperature leads CO2 by an average of 800 or so years. All the greenhouse gases minus water vapor make up 5.5% of all greenhouse gases, really not enough to cause an increase in warming, which is actually caused by the oceans and the sun.
Too bad all the scientists who are against man made global warming get silenced by environmental groups or have their data messed with like with the IPCC and the UN.

There are lots of reasons why the idea of global warming has caught on. I think it has a lot to do with human nature. Ever since the beginning of human civilization, whenever someone proficises doom, everyone stops what their doing and pays attention.
I also think that sooner or later, politicians are going to say, hey this is a great excuse to bring in a new tax. Other opportunists will see a great way to force people to buy stuff that the otherwise wouldn't, and governments will be inclined to spend the publics money on things that aren't of any real benefit.

I have to go with my favorite comedian George Carlin on this one. Mother Earth doesn't need saving. She'll be around loooong after we're gone. We're just here because she wanted someone to invent styrofoam, and now that that task is completed she'll be shrugging us off real soon ;-).
But seriously folks, the fear mongering left is sooo into making us believe that we,( the poor stupid people who have no idea how to intelligently spend our money and therefore should give it all to them to put into government programs that will make sure we put on our seatbelts, or know how and when to feed our fish and any other moronic excuse they can think of to spend our money and raise taxes), NEEED them to take care of us and save us from ourselves. It's my opinion tho that they have overstuffed their little fantasy world with so much horse manure that it's easy to see through their little ploy. First it was global warming, then it was the next ice age, now global warming is causing the next ice age...WHICH IS IT?! The fact is that the last ice age that the earth went through was of indeterminate cause, BUT one thing I know for certain is...WE WEREN'T HERE DRIVING OUR HUMMERS So now I encourage you all, Give up your food stamps, and free STD cures, get off your lazy butts and do something for yourself you'd be amazed how much better your life could be! Remove this lazy addiction to the democratic party that so many of their mindless zealots have, and act on every voting day. Because the bottom line is the muslim extremists that your democratic party are empowering everyday with their stupidity, are going to kill us a lot sooner than an iceberg off the coast of Florida. See the global warming crap for what it is, Yet another hopless attempt to make the republicans look bad. Because they're the big rich mean money grabbers. Well I have news for you, Year after year it has been the democrats who have raised taxes, while the republicans have fought on the platform that YOU know how to spend your money best and that it should belong to YOU. SO how is it that the democratic party even exists? Well it's easy, they go after the lazy people who would rather get their needs filled by a government agency than get it done themselves, They go after the tree huggers who are arrogant enough to think that little insignificant us who have been around for a milisecond on the the universal clock could make a dent either way when it comes to matters we have no significant control over. It's time to wake up people.

Yeah it's huge and it's going to be very expensive for all of us ... but the bright side is many will get rich off of this great scam. (not you or I) But all the while our standard of living goes down in the process, nothing like taking a step backward eh?.
I found this statement very amusing .. "Every day whole species of animals become extinct before they are even discovered." Really? Well if we haven't even discovered them yet .. how do we know they became extinct or even existed? And this happens everyday ... day in and day out?
Maybe it was just their time to go in the process of evolution? And what about species that were thought to be extinct and are discovered still here on this planet? What about the new species that are discovered that we didn't know existed before?

You can't win. The hoax has been masterfully applied.
The kicker is this: nobody will be able to prove or disprove Global Warming for another 30 years or more.
That's the beauty of this hoax. They say our species may go extinct if we can't stop Global Warming, so we can't take the risk of not reducing man made green house gasses (forget about the fact that volcanos spew out enough green house gasses that makes human kind's contribution look miniscule). They say our coastal cities will be underwater in 30 to 50 years. That's a whole generation!
Disproving Global Warming is like trying to prove a negative. It can't be done! It's an old political trick called "gotcha" when they trick the poor sap into trying to explain a negative, like when someboday says "can you prove that UFOs do not exist?" Of course you can't prove they don't exist, but the burden of proving something that is controversial must be placed on those affirmatively asserting the existence of the controversial subject matter.
You just can't expect your average Joe on the street to deal with this hoax in an effective way. They got us good.

Raise taxes - is that through the tax breaks and financial incentives paid to companies and individuals who reduce pollution.
Increase the cost of cars - that would explain why the Japanese and European models that have embraced cleaner technology have gone up in price. Oh I forgot to add, but not by as much as GM, Ford and other companies that have not embraced cleaner technology.
Increase gas prices - Like the reduced tax an greener fuels and the half price LPG and cheaper alternative fuels.
Stunt economic growth - As with all the technological advances that the Japanese and Europeans have made which they're exporting throughout the world.
Ruin the economy - Again like the Japanese and Europeans who have some of the the fastest growing economies because they've 'gone green' and are able to supply public demand for greener products and services.
Please look at the facts and not the myths.

Of course we can affect the earth. The earth has a delicate balance to it that is very easy to disrupt. Every day whole species of animals become extinct before they are even discovered. We are changing the earth significantly - and not in a good way. The animals will go first - but eventually we will mess the earth up so badly that humans will be in danger. If you care about the animals on this earth, and all the beauty and life that this planet contains - or even if you just care about your own grandchildren - you will spend less time arguing about whether or not global warming exists - and you will spend more time trying to do your part to turn this destruction of our home around.

I agree, honestly I believe most of the "normal" hard working 9-5ers agree. The problem we have is, the Tree-huggers with no jobs, Holly-drug-wood, and the Libs have jumped aboard. All of them feel so darn good about themselves saving the planet they don't stop, look around, and use their common sense (getting far less common everyday).

Nope, I'm dumb like these guys:
"Global warming is the most challenging problem our society has ever had to face up to. Ice is the canary in the coal mine of global warming."
Britain's chief scientist David King
"By mid-century, millions more poor children around the world are likely to face displacement, malnourishment, disease and even starvation unless all countries take action now to slow global warming."
Michael Oppenheimer, professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton University
“DuPont believes that action is warranted, not further debate."
Charles O. Holliday, Jr., CEO, DuPont (Engineer)
"The drafting of reports by the world’s pre-eminent group of climate scientists is an odd process. For many months scientists contributing to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change tussle over the evidence. Nothing gets published unless it achieves consensus. This means that the panel’s reports are extremely conservative – even timid. It also means that they are as trustworthy as a scientific document can be."
George Monbiot
"I challenge you, if you think there is some un-reported division, show me the hundreds of abstracts that support your view - you won't be able to. You can argue whether the consensus is correct, or what it really implies, but you can't credibly argue it doesn't exist."
Dr. James Baker - NOAA
"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know - except maybe Newton's second law of dynamics. Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point,You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."
Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA
Gee, whether to believe 99+% of the scientists in the world:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
or a few politically motivated skeptics.
Who might do well to listen to Newt:
"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives Tuesday to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

its already pretty obvious that what we are doing is bad for the environment. there's scientific proof that our actions pollute the air and caused the hole in the ozone layer. even if you dont believe that, theres no harm in trying to keep the earth clean.
