I have osteoarthritis, fibromalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. I have had two cervical spinal surgeries. I have 4 or 5 discs fused with metal plate and screws into spine. More surgery may not help. No promise of good results. Also low back pain.

I have done this and the shots work for a while, then they stop working. I have Fibromyalgia, arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome, and have had back surgery, so I know what you are going through.

I get the best pain relief from deep tissue massage therapy. I have this done about three times a week. It is literally the only thing that manages the pain and keeps me functioning. I really suggestion give this a try before doing anything invasive.

Apply heat to your back for twenty minutes several times a day. This will help relax the muscles.

Anti inflammatory medication can help with pain once you find the right one for you. This is a trial and error procedure.

I've enclosed a link to an article I have written on Fibromyalgia and it does give some ideas for self management.

If you have any further questions please let me know,

I've met some people who have had spinal blocks to try and help the pain in their spine. Some of them had very good results and others had very bad results. I had someone suggest a nerve block to block some nerves I have problems with as close to the spine as possible for a problem I have been dealing with for a while.

After having done much research I decided that it is not an option for me because of other health issues and the fact that I am so prone to having infections. I don't want to make my health issues that I have already worse, or create newer problems for myself if I were to do it. So I'm going to be having a chat with my neurologist to see what she says about all this.

I've had lumbar sympathetic blocks before to help with my pain (I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), and they worked but they were temporary for me, but for many people the shots work very well, and last for 4-6+ months.
