I can understand mandating engine packages and body requierements but should teams not have control over their own suspension. I think they should be allowed to choose tire. I think hooked up cars would make better racing. Lets save the totally identical cars for the Iroc series.

HUH? They are NOT totally identical. Some teams, mainly Hendrick, have got a little more on others when it comes to the COT. Once they go full time in 2008, the teams will get better with it, and figure out how to run side by side and in the draft without spinning each other out. I personally like having the cars more under the control of the driver than the pit crew. It will ultimately make it more exciting, in my opinion. But, I really don't care much for the wing on the back. If I want wings, I'll call KFC, or Pizza Hut.

Well, I hoped it would stop all the conspiracy theorists who say Chevy and Hendricks are cheating, but we know how that turned out. I'm kinda split on what I think would be best. If you have totally identical cars, you have close finishes but there's no "it" factor. What I mean is, when a team dominates, they all say they just have "it", however they may say it. On the flip side, if you let teams to do what they want to do with their cars without regulations, then you inevitably end up with total domination, and that's no fun either. I just think there is a happy medium somewhere, but I don't think the COT is it.

Right now I think they need to do something about this issue with Hendrick team testing COT on non-nascar tracks and buying other brand tires to do the testing with, and basically going behind NASCAR's back and running test that are NOT on the list and NOT scheduled... they just doing whatever the hell they please. Jack Roush is dead right, quote "The teams that have been successful ... they've gone to tracks outside NASCAR's control with tires that were not from Goodyear," Roush said. "Right now, Goodyear is sitting on millions of dollars worth of tires that are growing obsolete and hard in their warehouses. Teams have gotten around NASCAR's policy by buying other people's tires and testing at tracks that aren't on the Nextel Cup schedule"

Hendrick Motorsports, winners of nine of the first 12 races this season, is believed to have lapped the field in testing this year. Team officials said they've used a variety of test drivers about 30 times this year, and rival car owner Jack Roush said that's unfair.

BECAUSE THEY CHEATING WITH THIS COT!!!

I totally agree with you, I hate to say it but I think that with the COT is rigged so that whoever NASCAR wants to win will win. Also I think that the more action-packed races like Bristol, Tallegada and the 600 will be less exciting.
