my husband got an article 15 and we are afraid that they will dock his pay for a little while... we were told that if you set up an allotment for X amount of dollars, that the military can not change, tamper, or deduct from the alloment... is this true?

we live paycheck to paycheck and we have to make sure that we have enough money for diapers, food and other survival items... thanks

allotments are typically direct pays to other accounts such as rent( as in the case of PPV housing) or child support. and they WILL take everything that he is fined.. even if it takes a while.

If he is fined a half months pay for two months.. he WILL be fined a total of a month's pay. tell him to keep his nose clean and he won't have to worry about living paycheck to paycheck.

Military punishment is the final word.
If your husband was foolish enough to get a 15, consider a new husband. It, or something worse, may happen again.

"Your" allotment is from HIS pay. If he gets 'awarded' a $100 fine for 2 months, it comes out of 'YOUR' allotment if he is not drawing any separate pay (e.g. I used to keep my sea pay and separation allowance when deployed at sea, my wife got the rest of my pay in her allotment.).
