Everyone might say they will buy a hybrid vehicle, but when it comes down to it the majority will continue to buy gas guzzling SUV's. I have a Camry and a Dodge truck. I don't drive the truck as often as I used to, but I got one if I need it.

definite you're unsuitable, a stable hybrid will make up for the preliminary greater value in approximately 5-10 years. i'm going to do the same calculation as Adam above. A Prius has an preliminary value of approximately $23,000 with a $1750 tax rebate. It averages 40 8 mpg. study that to a classic vehicle that expenses $17,000 and gets 30 mpg. Say you force 10,000 miles/365 days. The Prius will use approximately 2 hundred gallons on the same time as the different vehicle will use 333. regardless of if gasoline basically expenses $3/gallon, you're saving $4 hundred/365 days. you're making up the version in value in 10 years inspite of that conservative 10,000 miles/365 days and $3/gallon. gasoline expenses are basically going to advance. Prius batteries are additionally designed to final the existence of the automobile. No Prius batteries have been replaced by using previous age interior the ~7 years they have been in production. Even the Priuses that have been used as taxis and function 250,000 miles on them, the batteries are nevertheless stable. Prius batteries in California have 10 365 days 150,000 mile warrantys, too. The batteries are completely recycleable, and Toyota would additionally pay $2 hundred in case you discover one among their previous hybrid batteries and return it to them for recycling. They etch the telephone extensive type onto each and each battery. each and everything of the battery is recycled and/or reused. ability used to make the batteries interior the 1st place is negligible whilst in comparison with the flexibility and emissions stored over the existence of the automobile. The emissions of a Prius are seventy 3% under the emissions of the regular new vehicle. confident yet? The Prius is the appropriate vehicle on the line precise now.

I currently own a small SUV that takes Gas.

My next purchase will either be an oil efficient small car (I'd love to get a Mini Cooper) or a Hybrid SUV.

I kicked myself when I saw that the SUV I purchased last year came out with a Hybrid version.

I learned my lesson on that one.

In the meantime, I'll conserve by driving as little as possible (walking to places like the grocery store or local resturants) and writing to my local congressmen about how I feel about increasing gas prices.

gas
SUV

Why?
Because I have read that to replace the batteries on Hybrid cars can sometimes cost more than the car itself.
SUVS are the best, especially if you live in snowy New England like me. I feel safer with 4wd and being in a bigger, higher vehicle. I'll never drive a car again.

My next car will be like all the rest I buy, AMERICAN. I live in this country and I intend to support it. So if its a hybrid then it will be from an American Car company, not a fake one where they assemble it here to avoid tarrifs and taxes.

Save your money, Stop Topping OFF your tank, 10 gallons is the most you should buy at a time. Leave it in the ground not in your tank.

No, they're not sporty enough. I love my 2006 Mustang! And plus, I don't really like many new cars besides Mustangs. I am going to buy an old car like a 1965 Mustang Convertible sometime. It's more important to me to like the car I have and not save money driving a car I could care less about. I'd rather spend less somewhere else.
