You can't be in a no fault accident, and suddenly just decide you have whiplash and claim and be paid. Unless she went and saw a doctor, and was diagnosed with whiplash and received treatment, your insurance will not pay her for it. As to legal cover, I have no idea what that might be. Ask your agent.

your liabilty on your policy will cover her vehicle and any injuries she may be claiming. Adjusters usually amount injuries to damage to the vehicle. if it is small amount of damage to her car then her "injury" may just be superficial but as long as sees a doctor and is treated for her injury the insurance will pay out reasonably to her. She can sue but in the long run she could just be talking alot of smack. Let your ins company handle it. thats what they are there for and its in their best intrest to resolve the matter that will make everyone happy. And remember you are hearing this through the grapevine try asking her how she feels and reassure that yyour ins co will handle the claim properly and professionally. If you are worried about being sued ask your agent about an Umbrella policy to cover your home/auto. Million in coverage and they are very inexpensive.

If you are in the U.S. and have liability insurance then your insurer will handle this mess. I really doubt this pond scum of a co-worker has whiplash if she is still 'thinking' about it. She may think your insurance company will just flop over and give her five thousand dollars to go away -- NOT BLOODY LIKELY. She better be armed with x-rays, handfulls of med bills and Rx's before a savy adjuster will even consider paying her a dime. Even then it will only be for medical treatment.

You do not say which state or country you are in. In the US, when you buy auto insurance, you always get liability insurance. The liability insurance company would then have to investigate and handle any liability claim. I never heard the term "legal cover" before. In the US the insurance company has to pay for an attorney to defend you, if you get sued.

Are you a doctor? Then how do you know she doesnt have whiplash? Exactly!
I hate people who take advantage of accidents.. BUT... she could have whiplash and if you were at fault (which it absolutely seems you are) you are absolutely responsible for reasonable medical bills.
If you dont pay... legal action will be taken and you can plan on your assets being seized and wages garnished.
You made your bed.. now you have to lay in it. Why on earth wouldnt you get medical coverage on your policy? What if you hit a child crossing the street and broke their back! How would they get covered? thats very selfish of you.

As a ways as I understand, whoever "hits" has the legal responsibility or is "at fault". In different phrases, coverage businesses and legislation enforcements point of view is, "If you're following the entire regulations of the street and security, there may be in no way any purpose to hit some thing." Now, if there used to be ice at the street, that would atleast make matters lean extra to your want, however I feel you have got to have a image taken that day of the stretch of street you slid on. That's why they are saying you will have to constantly have atleast a disposable digital camera to your vehicle to take a image of an coincidence and coincidence scene at the day of the coincidence, at the side of a telephone telephone, your coverage understanding, motive force's license and registration. Hopefully you may have vehicle coverage in order to pay although it's your fault, or if now not, plenty of peers and loved ones in order to aid you on this time of quandary. There's plenty of different elements to bear in mind: used to be both of the drivers riding whilst impaired, or in a hurry, did both depart the scene of the coincidence earlier than legislation enforecement arrived, what sort of autos had been worried, did each have vehicle coverage-dl license-registration-and many others... So confidently, possibly there may be different elements which are to your want right here. In both case, it is a take-heed call to constantly force appropriately and defensively and maintain as a lot house among you and different relocating autos or gadgets as viable, have a seat belt on, and would not have any distractions like paying attention to the radio, consuming, ingesting, speakme on a telephone telephone, and many others... I understand all this considering that I've been riding for years now, and feature simplest been in a couple of injuries. In each coincidence besides one, any one hit me and for a few purpose none of them even had a motive force's license!!!! In the coincidence in which I hit any one, I rear ended any one, similar to you probably did. So in view that I "hit", it used to be my fault, despite the fact that the vehicle in entrance of me stopped brief and quite rapid, now not giving me any time to give up. The simplest factor that stored me used to be that the vehicle I hit left the scene of the coincidence, and, from what I appreciate, it used to be a few sort of coverage rip-off at the aspect of the opposite motive force.
