Eating smaller portions is one of the easiest ways to cut back on calories.
To eat smaller portions try the following ideas:
When eating out
Choose a regular hamburger at your favorite fast food stop instead of the larger burger, and save about 150 calories.
Have the small fries instead of the super-sized and save about 300 calories.
Order the small soda. It has about 150 fewer calories than the large one.
Share an entrée with a friend when you go to a restaurant.
Ask for half your meal to be packed for you and eat it for lunch the next day.
At home
Don't "eat from the bag." When snacking, place a few chips, crackers or cookies in a bowl to help prevent overeating.
Buy single portions of snack foods so you're not tempted by the whole bag or box.
Like butter and sour cream on your baked potato? Mayonnaise and cheese on your sandwich? Cream cheese on your bagel? Use half the amount you usually do—and save even more calories by using lower-fat varieties.

You're at an age where your appetite is high. I wouldn't worry. However, it is always good to layoff the sweet stuff (snickers, pop tarts) and junk food as they are high in calories and unhealthy. Also, it is always good to have 4-5 small meals a day rather than traditional breakfast, lunch, dinner meal.
If you feel that you're constantly hungry, take more protein based foods as carbs only temporarily fills you. Try to curb your cravings by spending more time on outdoor activities, sports. As for exercise, just be sure you get at least 1/2 hour minimum daily to sweat, can be running, basketball, whatever you fancy.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Seriously: drinking water before a meal will cause you to feel full faster.
It's typical for people undergoing puberty to eat quite a bit of food. If you think that it's a *problem* in your case, see your medical professional. There are many things they can do to help you with appetite control and healthy eating.
Choices are important. If you're going to eat, and you think that you over eat, have some low-calorie or healthy food options available.

dude.
don't eat junk food all the time. tonight, when you are thinking, hmm, it would be a great idea to have a soda and a bag of skittles, eat something else.
try water and cucumber slices or carrots or a serving of fruit.
another easy thing--when you go out to eat fast food, don't supersize it. don't make it a biggie. get the smallest soda or a water and pick healthy things off the menu.
(think a grilled chicken salad instead of a burger and fries).
