Why on earth would you want it to burn? Tin foil should be used right from the package. I use it to line my baking dishes and cookie sheets to lessen the cleanup involved. It's one of the best kitchen helpers I have!

I never have - if grilling, I just spray with a little Pam for grilling & then place meat or whatever in center of foil. For baking, I wrap shiny side in & you can tell when it's done ( I wrap shiny side in on grill too, it's much easier when doing veggies like corn and such)........

You shouldn't burn it before using it. Just cook in it as it is. But don't cook it in the microwave.

No, just wrap up what you are going to cook and pop it on the BBQ or oven or whatever..

Sometimes you don't have a choice depending on the cooking service.

It won't hurt anything.
