Islam is an Arabic word means subbmission to God.
- It is to worship God, the only and absolute God.
- The five main things to be a Muslim: to testify that there is no God but God and Muhammed is his prophet, doing prayers, giving charity to poor people, performing holy visit to the holy place of Ka'ba, fasting in the month of Ramadan.
- The five main faiths in Islam: faith in the only GOD, faith on angels, faith in scriptures books (BIBLE, QURAN,...), faith in God's messengers (Moses, Jesus Christ, Muhammed...etc), faith in the last day (Judgement day).
- It is to befriending all believers from scriptures
- It is to be kind with all people whatever they are or belief
- It is 99% of the holy Quran, the book of ISLAM, about how to live your life and how to treat others rather than worshipng actions.
Islam is just like any other religion...it is a way of life

There is no truth left out there except the Quran which confirms the Original Bible and the Original Torah and adds nothing to the religion taught in those books ..... only that the Quran CANNOT be changed. If you think you can change and present one full Quran in Arabic different than any other .... I challenge you.
A Muslim is one who "Submits completley to The ONE GOD and accepts His Power over everything" even if that person knows of NO prophets or Messengers or Books...... he/she is considered a Muslim. Today you will find those that call themselves "Muslims" saying the belief in Mohammad is also a part of the Muslim belief ....... sorry but NOT!!!
Now, those who know about Books and Messengers of GOD and reject them .... they will be in trouble on the Day of ressurrection.
Belief after becoming a "Muslim" is to believe in;
God, His Angels, All His Books, All His Messengers without distinction betweeen them and knowing that the end of ALL journeys is GOD or belief in resurrection and accountability.
After this you become a believer in your heart, if you are assured of the above. To know what a "Believer" is all about, read the Quran.
fyi, The Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Messenger of God and His Word is not dead and will return to Earth at the appointed time to confirm all of the above and to teach Mankind the true religion once more, so wait ye, I too am waiting.

Islam is about submitting oneself to the will of Allah/GOD. It is about being at peace with GOD, the world around, fellow humans, and fellow Muslims.
It is not about terrorism. If one reads the Quran, the whole Quran and not just pick and choose verses to support one's views, one will see the truth of Islam is peace and justice.
Many view Islam in such a bad light because of the media coverage of the deplorable actions of terrorists claiming Islam. Investigate for yourself. Don't take my word for it.

The word is spelled "sincere".
I have recently noticed a difference between Christianity and Islam. The Christian creeds start with "I believe", where the Muslim shahada starts with "I bear witness" (I testify). Christians seem to emphasize belief in an unknowable mystery, and Muslims emphasize a knowable truth.

GOD Laws are made of three Books: The Old Testament, The new Testament and Quran as a conclusion all originated from the middle east. How can you understand GOD LAWS with out reading GOD Conclusion?
"Say: we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il: Isaac, Jacob and The Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another, among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Qur'an, Al-Imran 3:84)

islam is about how to live happy in this life and after the jugement day, and tells you how to treat poeple, how to eat ,drink ,how to raise your children ,how to treat your husband ,and whatever comes to mind even on battles you must not cut a tree or kill a woman or priest or the elder or children ,it is peeceful even the word :al salam alekom"which is the salutation carries peece im sorry if some of my spelling is not correct .you can see correct sites also.wish you the best.

Good question. Islam is all about submitting yourself to Allah (swt). It's about doing things that will please our God and earn us a place in heaven at God's will. Unfortunately, people are showing hatred towards Islam because of the news and the sick-headed terrorists out there who are destroying the peaceful image of Islam.
