Nothing says thank you like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. A nice box of chocolates and a note to say thank you.

If you love baking, why not make her a lovely gift hamper by stocking a basket with biscuits, home made pies and cakes, a bottle of champagne and some lovely cheese and crackers. Always a lovely gift, and because it;s home made it will automatically tell her how sincere you are.
Even if you just bake a cake and take it to her... it would be a lovely gesture my dear :)

Lots of things. A practical idea would be a gift cards to a place she likes to go. Since your neighbor is a woman never underestimate the power of flowers. You could also do a job for her around her house as a way to say thank you.

It's what SORT of thing, not what sought of thing. The spelling 'sought' means when you seek something out....anyway, offer her a tenner for petrol money or give her a gift voucher, or a bottle of wine if she drinks, chocolates, bubble bath - but defo not deodrant.

It depends on what she likes. Plants or flowers are always a nice thank you gift. If you know what types of food/goodies she likes, gift baskets are nice (try figis.com). Sometimes just a good old fashioned thank you card expressing your grattitude is enough.

A gas gift certificate.
Invite the neighbor to dinner.

I would say a gas gift card, what with the price of fuel. You know it is something she can definitely use, and would really appreciate.
