The media are fickle. Pay no attention to any network they are in for profits. Anna supposedly sold ratings. (I ended up reading several books that week) Go through DFW airport and other places in uniform, the support shown is in small humble acts of thanks.
As for no mention of a soldier on his first tour dying, it is not something people want to be reminded of. "A single death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic," and that is what has happened in with the war. With close to 3,500 dying it is difficult to fathom the great loss. I do not watch those stories because I hate tearing up and the limp in my throat that takes forever to go away. Rationally I know what must be done, emotionally - I truly am a girly man.
I will support those in uniform and your thanks occur away from the spotlight. Please accept my humble Thank you.

It's because if every time a soldier died it was all over the news, there would be a lot less support for the military. People would lose heart towards what we are trying to do to stop terrorism. What's even worse then the Anna Nicole story is the fact that the whole country was interested in Don Imus while Cho was loading his gun in Virginia. He was a form of terrorism, but no one will admit it. His footage to the news showed that he was at least a sympathizer for the extremist cause, if not actually one of them. What happened there could happen again if terrorism is not brought under control.

The American military is supported by the American public as never before. I went to a memorial day service in my small town of 500 or so people in Arkansas. There must have been 150 folks there. No newspaper covered our function. No TV or radio was there. But the people were - from farmers to the Mayor. And they were all there for the troops. Most of them wanted the war to end. But they are all behind the men and women serving for our country. There will be no spit or cries of "baby killer" this time. The war was wrong but you men and women are right and will stand tall in our history.

A very intelligent option. I'm a supporter of Norwich City - now not unexpected fairly as I was once born and raised in Norfolk. You can have extra dangerous instances than well, however it's a lot greater than assisting the Arsenals, Man Utds, Barcelonas and Borussia Dortmunds of this global. Follow the men in yellow (the Canaries).

Yea I agree. Anna nicole doesn't do anything to serve or help the people of our nation. All she did was do cocaine and get naked. We have tons of people who do that already and that does not exactly improve the standards of our nation.
What makes her so important and special from the others who selflessly sacrifice there lives. I don't even watch those people on tv. They are nobodies in real life, they are not going to pay my rent or yours so why do you care about them. They are not going to fight so you will not have to go fight yourself. Why should you care about them more then the troops. I watch some comedy shows on comedy central. but i dont think they are more important then the troops. and i dont watch no , lazy person that helps no one like Anna nicole smith. Plus Anna Nicole smith is depressing to look at. Come on, at least comedy central makes me laugh from time to time. But the troops are always first in my prioties then other things like nicole or tv

You are supported in my household and in my other family members homes. I am married to a vet. Hes been in the army for 7 yrs and just re-enlisted for another 6 yrs. Its pure bullshit that the media only airs the car bombs and IEDs , instead of the caring men and women who risk their lives everyday in that hell hole. The military is why we have rights and freedoms. The people who ***** about the war and everything else that goes along with it shouldnt be allowed to call themselves americans. America is what it is today and the people of this country have the freedoms that they have today becuz of war and the military. So thanks to you and every other soldier who has the balls to serve our country with honor. Becuz apparently those who ***** dont have the guts to put their lives on the line for their fellow americans.

You are supported by me and everyone I know. Your courage and honor are extraordinary. Don't let main stream media discourage you.The majority of Americans are rational decent people who unwaveringly support you and all the troops. Thank you! What you do for this country makes me proud and thankful to be an American.
God Bless and take care!

It is not the men and women serving in the military that people have been losing support for. It was the rationale and continued decsion to stay made by Bush that people don't support.
Keep up the good work!!!

The military hasn't lost support. The left wing media ignores the positive and focuses on how terrible everything is. HONK for my military brothers and sisters. God Bless!
