Are most theists of the world really hopeless to come to terms with reality? Are they forever in the disease of delusion? It's like no matter how hard we try to educate them with science and reason their precious little "faith" just won't let them go. It's like I'm watching humanity sink into a black hole where no light of truth is available. Most of the word is theistic - soon enough this could very well destroy our species. It's done a good job so far with violence and wars in the name of "God".

"Religion is not the Disease, Jesus is the cure."
*laughs* A fictional man is the cure... right.
"How am I hurting you? Why do you feel the need to "educate" me?"
Your delusion is hurting our species which hurts me.
"Why do you wrongly assume that I am Ignorant, Poor, Brainwashed, etc?"
You were indoctrinated which makes you ignorant to reality. This is the truth.
"I am happy for you that you found happiness, why can you not do the same for me?"
A comforting delusion is still a delusion. This "happiness" of yours is destroying humanity.

Its a good question. It makes me sad though. As a Atheist converted to Christianism i have to say that some awnser made me sad too.
If religion seems like empty chores and empty rituals and anything other than love, you're doing it wrong.
I wish i had a big speech with a lot of irony and Bible quotations to make all you angry atheist people more angry (not very loving of me, i know). But I don't, all I can say is this: Nobody brainwashed me, I'm not a moron and i didn't became an idiot when i converted to christianity. I'm just the man i was back when i was an atheist, only better, WAY better.
There are a LOT of things that are destroing the world we ive in today: empty consumism, thirst for money and power and so on. Maybe empty religious people who are concerned with everybody's sexual preference and creationism beating evolution have a part on this, but they simply forget to experience the Love between us and God and between ourselves, And thats everything. As i said before they're doing it wrong.
thats all

I was raised with Christian views, although neither parent was strict about it. Just so long as I believed in God and knew a few "basics," they seemed satisfied.
After losing a very close friend of mine, I started asking questions that my religion couldn't answer. So I began looking into other religions. None fit.
I started looking into the possibility that God doesn't exist at all. It fit.
I've been Atheist over half of my life, and find that the world actually makes far more sense to me now than it ever did before. I also feel far better about myself and the choices that I make.

Calm down. Statistically, there is a higher percentage of atheists than ever (at least since the dawn of the written word of man). Our ranks have almost tripled in percentage during the last forty years, and our volume has increased by nearly 5 times over. That should serve as a wake-up call to all the fundies out there. It seems more and more likely that we are headed toward a showdown between Christians and Muslims. If this occurs during our lifetime, I advise you to find a safe place to hide. We'll pick up the pieces after they are done trying to prove to each other which god is better, and we can watch as they spread their gods' "love" using guns, tanks, and bombs.

The lie is that logic does no longer exist on the two aspects, and the two aspects take faith in one type or yet another besides. Convert? the real question is what do you are able to desire to benefit by employing doing this? stay and enable stay. you're entitled on your very own ideals as is truthfully everyone else. They likely, like I do, view your place an analogous way you view theirs. medical approach can not discern between a universe created by employing God and one created accidentally. this is illogical to anticipate in any different case. And the "dark a protracted time" exchange into led to by employing the Roman Catholic church decrease than the rule of thumb of Constantine. It exchange into no longer Christian in any respect.

I so know this.
Someone you love deeply dies. you aren't capable of letting these things go. so you deny that they are gone forever and you sit thinking forever in insanity that you will once again meet with them in afterlife, and forever be with them. its really just weakminded.
I got over this in 7th grade and figured well, it makes sense that there isn't a magical man in the clouds and a red man with a trident under the ground and earth is flat.
they know that evolution will disprove their hopes of once again reconnecting with their loved ones....
So don't bother. What we really need to do is gain control of the system, and hold them down into smaller factions.
It's impossible to break through their minds. Because: some even die for it. so... really...
hmm...

There is one in the process right here.
I think most are just in denial and holding on tightly to what they think is supposed to be "thee Truth." It's not easy to leave behind what you have been taught, what your friends and family seem to value above all else. So yes, they cling to faith denying whatever may cause questions and separate them from it. Some will make it out, we are told we are some of the "many" who "will fall away". The religious are better at tearing down than building up.

I am not a religious person. It's not that I don't believe in a higher power, it's just that I don't believe in God as everyone percieves him to be. I guess you could say I'm an Agnostic. I hate the rivalry between hardcore Christians and Atheists, it just causes unneeded tension.

But I think there is hope in the world and in humanity...

I used to be a Christian. I found out and proved Jesus was a false messiah threw bible verses. Then I found out and proved the Bible its self was contradicting.
Even Christians contradict!
Christians would say,
"The only cure for Atheism is to call out God's name! Lord Jesus! Halleluyah!"
but then later they say,
" Don't say the Lord's name in vain"
the bible says:
"call out God's name to be saved"
then says
"Those who call out God's name shall be put to death"
Scary!
