It depends on the person really. I went on a cruise back in 2005... RC, Majesty of the Seas, and there were way too many kids on the boat... if you have kids then it's great (although if they are really young, look into the Disney Cruises) otherwise find one that caters more towards adults, trust me... it's annoying to be sitting by the pool and hearing a bunch of kids screaming when your trying to relax... and MOST parents let their kids run around un-supervised so that's even worse.
One thing you always hear about is people getting sick... well I'll tell you this... if you ALWAYS remember to wash your hands VERY often & right before eating (meaning AFTER you've gone through the food bar touching all the serving spoons etc.) and DON'T eat food that appears to have been sitting out for a while (anything that should be kept very cold, like things with mayo, or anything that should be kept hot and isn't) then you should be fine... I followed all of that and did NOT get sick. Also, if you can splurge a little on the room... although your not in there very much, you don't want something on the bottom of the ship with no window or a little tiny port hole... splurge for one with a good sized window... it's worth it! Most of all have fun... it's a great experience!

First off, most people who go on a cruise have a great time, and most cruise again. That being said you have to consider several factors when you are thinking about a cruise, like do you want to be at one place for several days or do you want to visit several different places, are you going to drink a lot of alchool, do you get motion sickness, and on and on. The biggest positives of a cruise are that you get to see more than one place( anywhere from 2 to 5 or more ports depending on the length). Food is usually good on most ships and is included in the price of your cruise ( and there is plenty of it). If you get motion sickness do not go on a cruise you will be miserable. Alchool on almost all cruises is not included and is very expensive also for the most part you cannot bring your own. When it comes down to it all cruises are not the same, so you have to do your research. I have been on just about every major cruise line more than once and have gone to most destnations, if you have some specific places you want to go just ask. Good luck

I went on a cruise to Alaska a few years ago, on Princess cruise line and it was awesome! Alaska cruises have probably the most gentle water there is, so it was really pleasant and smooth most of the time (which is really good for me, 'cuz I'm prone to seasickness).
Princess cruises are really good at customer service, and the food in the dining room is superb! To get food like that on land, you would have to eat at a five-star, $50 a plate restaurant. There is also tons to see and do at the ports along Alaska's inside passage, and tons to do on the cruise ship as well. Part of the fun of going on a cruise is taking advantage of all the free activities on the ship. On my cruise, I took a Yoga class, sat in the hot tub, went to some evening shows, played games w/ my family in the library, and that's just a small piece of what is actually available. There was a basketball court, swimming pools, a spa (not for free, though), educational seminars about each of the ports, and of course you can stand outside and take in the beautiful views (and see marine animals if you're lucky).

I was just on a cruise last month and had a great time! I went on Royal Carribean -Freedom of the Seas to the Western Carribean and it was awesome! You get to see so much and the ship was awesome. There was sooo much to do and it was very clean and the food was very good. Everyone on the ship is super friendly and helpful also. Its also one of the biggest ships in the world so you didnt really feel like you were even on the ocean, which is good if you get sea sick at all. Anyways have fun, cruising is a great way to see lots of stuff. You may want to check out which cruise line is good for what your looking for, example.. i think carnival is younger people more of a party boat, royal carribean is more family oriented... etc. have fun

I have been on 9 cruises. I love to cruise I think it is the best way to travel. It is like a floating city there is so much to do and these Ships now have everything you can imagine on board. You only have to unpack once and most of the Islands that you view from the water
are spectacular.

I just back last week from a cruisetour (11days) to Alaska. Not enough words to say just how great it was. If you like meeting new people, trying new foods, most of all Nature at it finest, plus with waited on, visiting new places, getting a great deal for your money then YES if you choose a cruise that fits your taste on what you will expect then a cruise is the way to go.

I have had two great cruise experiences with Carnival. The food was great. The activities were well planned and fun. The staff was awesome, especially the servers in the dining rooms. And to top it off, it cost less than a trip to Disney World. In fact, I have another one booked for Sept of this year.

Cruises are great. The shorter cruises on the "fun ships " may end up being a weekend of drinking and not much else.
Check out all the lines. The longer the cruise the calmer that passengers are and the better the food is.
There is something for everything. It is a lot of fun.

Depends on the cruise. They are not all created equal. Do your homework and research, talk to a travel agent, and you'll have a GREAT time on a cruise. Just take any ol' el cheapo cruise, however, and it can really suck. On the whole, most people really enjoy them. That is why they stay in business.

Cruising is great!!! I have been on cruises to the Bahamas on both Carnival and Royal Carribean and had a blast each time. If you get motion sickeness easily, go prepared with whatever medications you take for this. But overall, go prepared to have all kinds of fun and see all kinds of sights. Keep in mind with any vacation, it is what you make it to be.
