Yes, just as a motorcycle license is also required. Call around. Some companies don't cover motorcycles anymore. If you have a car as well, you usually don't get a multi-vehicle discount with a bike, because it is a recreational vehicle. However, if you use your bike more than the car, and your mileage on your car stays low, bring it up to your agent, and they may be able to give you a low mileage discount on your car. Every company rates the bike insurance differently. Some go by cc's, some go by the year, make & model. Just remember to have the vin# when you call around. To get a lower premium, you may want to try one of those companies that advertises in motorcycle magazines. Good luck!

depends on the the bike, some comapines insure by size of motor , some go by the bike.

For instance an honda shadow 600 cc vs an R6 600cc some compaines will say they are the same , however some companies will tell you the shadow is a standard bike and that the R6 is a super bike. In most cases if you 20 you need not ride the super bike becuase the isurance will be really high.

driving any motorized vehicle you are required by the law to carry liability ins. depending on the type of motorcycle the rates vary and being a young male driver under the age 25 the rates will be high. I cannot tell you high since I only write in TX :)
