People need dreams, because dreams are beautiful. Once we've achieved a dream, we need new dreams.

A guy that dreamt his whole life of owning a ferarri, finds new dreams after he's bought the silly car. Usually people find out that pursuing a dream is better than having reached the dream.

A person dies, and goes to Heaven. He's dreamt about Heaven his entire life. Now what? What possibly can top that dream? What can he dream about for the rest of eternity?

Good point. It's like the person that's depressed after retirement, because once you achieve your goal you have nothing left to do.

Yes, but you can't really imagine or dream what heaven will be like. I think you're trying to define heaven in human/earthly terms too much. It can't be done because we don't have the ability to do it. Heaven will be a place of perfect communion with God, and contains all perfection that exists. I don't think that will be a dissapointment, even for "eternity."

People dream about a ferrari with their carnal mind, which can not stay in the state of being satisfied. In contrast, heaven is a spiritual place, where our spirit goes to live if we are born again of the spirit of God. Being born of the spirit of God means that our flesh is subjugated to our spirit. It means to daily take up our cross because we live in a corrupted world, but when we leave this earth our flesh will be left behind.

It's true we do swing from dream to dream and never feel satisfied(Christians are like this too, quite often)...The difference is that I believe that heaven and the Glory of God will take an eternity, to fully embrace.

If the Christians are right they can dream about all the ungodly heathens and homosexuals burning in hell. That should keep them happy for a couple of eternities.

Oh it's worse than that, you wouldn't even remember your dream. And yes, eternal life does take away all ambition.

Jesus claims that in heaven, all tears will be wiped away and all things will be made new (. As human individuals we must have memory of our past experiences for our lives to have any meaning to us personally. If your memories were taken away, the person you were would cease to exist to you, so conscious memory of who you are (self-realization) is what gives your life true meaning.

Will you maintain your self-realization and memories in heaven? Not if you plan on having a life with no pain or suffering. Who we are is based on our past life experiences, both joyful and painful, and the memory of a painful experience causes a re-living of the pain that memory involved. To live a life of no suffering would require that all memory of suffering be erased. Who you were would have to be altered drastically in order for you to never suffer again. The person you know yourself to be right now could not exist in heaven.

And what good does it do you to live for an eternity in harmony and peace if you can't remember your life experiences, the beauty of diversity, or the exquisite pleasures of the full spectrum of human experiences because you have lost awareness of who you were as an individual? As individuals, we find pleasure in various ways, most of these involving the expansion of our knowledge and life experiences. For some of us that means learning as much as we can about a topic of interest or several topics of interest. For others it means getting out and experiencing the world; exploring the wonders of nature, space, sports and whatever else which may bring us slack. Humans become weak if they are not challenged. Muscles atrophy if not stressed, so does the mind and the will. How long do you think it would take for strumming a harp and singing praises of hallelujah to become dull and boring? Eventually, if we don't have a continually challenging and diverse environment, we will die, yet in heaven you cannot die. You will continue to live the dull existence of being a servant of God's will, unable to think or feel for yourself for year after year after year, ENDLESSLY. This stagnation would not be heaven for human individuals it would be hell.

No way, heaven is better than anything we can imagine. With such an intelligent being that made the universe, we cant be bored. The bible says we will know all things, so that cant be boring.

It is my opinion that heaven is for the angelic hosts, God, and Jesus.
The Bible says that God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth.
Don't you think that the humans worthy of "heaven" will inhabit the new earth? Why else would God make it?

I think that this is exactly why God wants you to choose to go over there. He does not want to force heaven to anyone. It is not going to be a pleasure to people who have not started to worship God here. It is a big church. Church is really a community. I know that it is going to be even better I think. But I love God. I know it is going to be great.
