Pancho this could have been a very good fight had they ever met in the ring as both were very talented fighters with above average power and boxing skills. The Hitman faced the tougher opposition during his career and I believe is the better overall fighter. I believe that Hearns would outbox Curry who would have his moments during the fight and win probably about 9 of the 15 rounds winning by unanimous decision.

Wow, i'm kinda shocked that everyone is picking Hearns so easily like Curry was some kind of scrub or something. Curry in his prime was a damn good fighter. I know Tommy was a great fighter, but he didn't have the best chin and Curry had a potent left hook and a good right hand. And Curry was a good counter puncher too. I'm sure this would've been a much tougher fight for Hearns than most people think. Leonard showed in their first fight that Hearns was susceptible to a left hook as he hurt him with it numerous times. No doubt Curry would've done the same if he connected. I'm going to say Curry weathers Hearns best shots and knocks him out with a left hook in round 10.

Tommy Hearns by KO within 6 rounds. Hearns was a freak at that weight in terms of size and power. Curry of course would give him some troubles in the opening rounds with his better boxing abilities and mobility. But once, Hearns got his range and his rhythm going, it would only be a matter of time before Curry succumbed to his withering firepower. Hearns would lock in on Donald by the start of the fifth round and would finally land the 1-2 finishing combo near the end of the sixth. The finisher would be Hearn's famed double right---a ponderous right hook to the side of the face that would momentarily stun Curry setting up him for the killer another powerful downward right to the jaw as Donald was on his way face first to the canvas.

Donald Curry was good, a well schooled boxer with power, but not that good. Thomas Hearns was great, and at 147 nobody hit harder. Tommy could box when he had to, and his reach advantage alone at 147 was enough to give him a serious advantage over most welterweights. His right hand could KO any 147 fighter in history, including Donald Curry.

Hearns by KO inside 10 rounds.

At 147 Hearns was a devestating puncher with a 80 in reach. Curry was a good technical skilled boxer but his chin gave out on him during his reign as champion. Even though Hearns did get TKO'd by Leonard before that fight he was a KO artist and after his loss to Leonard he did not lose again until he met Marvin Hagler. Hearns by KO.

Hearns, in his prime, shredded guys like Curry. There was this guy named Cuevas, everyone was accusing Sugar Ray Leonard of ducking. So Cuevas fought Hearns instead, and got blasted. Hearns decimated everyone except for the extreme all-time greats Leonard and Hagler. And he almost beat those 2, as well. And no-one remember how awesome Cuevas was because of the Hit Man.

If Tommy catches Curry, this ends in two rounds flat. But if Donald manages to evade Tommy's jab, use some combinations, this could be a real close fight. But somehow, I think in this scenario, Hearns still edges Curry.

Hearns fought the better competition and could crack with both hands. Hearns by KO. If Honeyghan, Nunn and Norris could TKO or KO Curry, Hearns would do the same.

curry did not have the chin or leg movement to stay with hearns at any weight. unless he could beat hearns to the punch which is not likely because hearns had the speed and reflexes of a cobra. hearns by ko
