Not the same at all. Tattoos are more of a steady pain vs short quick pokes. In my opinion, the best way to describe the feeling is like a scratch or a mild burning feeling. A little bit into the tattooing process, you get used to the pain and it doesnt really bother you much anymore. Good luck and congrats on getting a tat!

yes it will hurt, and no, its not the same as a piercing. depending on how pain tolerant you are and where youre getting the tattoo, it can change the level of pain. for example, some of the worst places to get tattoos (pain wise) are on the hands feet head ribs and neck. basically where there is not a lot of fat. places that hurt less are legs shoulders and back and upper arms, basically where there is some fat.
it will probably hurt more than a piercing because it takes a lon time and the needle goes into your skin a lot of times. after a while, it is kind of numbing though, so dont worry too much. hope i helped. good luck.

Not the same but it's not too bad either - if you ever get a tat over a bone you will experience more pain - I have 3 one on each shoulder and one down my spine - the one down my spine actually made me swear out loud....quite loudly...but you start to get numb after a little while and if you can keep yourself distracted you really won't even feel it - I've heard the most painful places are across the ribs and in sensitive areas like the underarm - make sure you've got a reliable tat artist so in case you want something big that's gonna take more than one sitting, you know you're gonna get what you want. Enjoy - tat's rock - and they're totally addicting!

It's not as sharp of a pain, but it lasts longer. After a while you get kinda numb, and there is a definite rush afterwards, that lasts way longer than the piercing rush. I don't recommend taking anything for the pain, if you don't get used to it right when the tattoo starts, it will hurt way more when the painkillers wear off. It also hurts more if it goes over bone. The one on my bicep didn't hurt at all, it tickled like crazy.

i do not consider a tattoo a "pain" i is uncomfortable and very different. It also depends on where on the body u get it. I have 7 and the best way to describe it (in my opinion) is scratching over a sunburn with a safety pin. It feels pretty comperable to that. Hope this helps and good luck. Dont be scared, i HATE needles and i was fine. There is no feeling exactly like it though.

i have a lot of tats and a piercing on my lip and my downstairs and to be honest, i think that the clamps on piercings hurt so much more than tattoos. i can handle getting tats, in fact the last one i got i ended up falling asleep. if u wanna know how it feels just take a needle or safety pin and very fast poke it againt your arm, not too hard, but just enough to feel it. that is close to what it feels like, but since the needle is hooked up to a machine, it'll go a lot faster. it'll only hurt during the first few minutes, then your body will go numb and u wont feel it...you'll feel the needle, but it wont hurt. One thje artist is finished with the tat, it wont at all...and its so worth it :D

No. A tattoo can take hours to complete while a piercing is over in seconds. A needle is piercing your skin for quite a while. when you get a tattoo... needless to say it hurts a LOT more than getting your nose pierced. Sorry to scare you, but they really do hurt like hell.

Yes of course tattoos hurt. Piercings are fairly quick so they don't hurt that bad until afterward. Tattooing is basically having a needle dragged through your epidermis. It's all a matter of your pain tolerance and the location of your body that you get the tattoo.

Good luck.

Some places on one's body are much more sensitive to tattoo's than others. It does feel different, like a bad sunburn to me. If you get it on your side it will most likely hurt a lot more than compared to your arm. It also depends on the artist. Some are very light on the needle which will make you experience much more tolerable. I'd recommend not getting anything too large.

It's not the same. The pain of a tat' depends on the local. Mine on the lower right side of my back didn't hurt at all. My hubby's newest one on his wrist was much more painful. As long as you get it in a place with some tissue before you hit bone it's all good.... don't forget to check out the artist, too.
