Hell no, it is not!
There is no proof about the existence of God one way or the other. How does evolution prove there is no God? It only proves that Adam and Eve were not the first humans on this planet. That only takes common sense. Cain found a wife in Nod.

I saw an answer that stated that atheists are out to prove evolution because it disproves God. Bull$hit!!!!!!
All people capable of reading a science book can see that evolution is a proven fact.

This is where willful ignorance comes in. You can choose to remain ignorant or you can choose to read and learn.

Amen, sister!
Ain't it funny how Christians will attempt to discredit atheists by stating that proven fact is blasphemy? We know that evolution is a theory based on PROVEN FACT but rather than admit that their precious Bible may have mistaken information believed more than 2.000 years ago. I guess this means that the discovery of the world being round is an attempt to disprove God too? Or the fact that it is psychologically unhealthy to marry women off to their rapists? Completely against God, right?
I asked this question yesterday, based on Biblical readings and Christian websites claiming Jesus probably had children but was never actually married: Oh, wait! Ha! My question was deleted! These fundamentalist 'moderators' have removed it without reason! Shocking. I meant to save the question, details, and answers from last night because I was afraid, due to the angry and nasty responses I received, that it might get deleted. This was the question itself - "Wasn't Jesus himself a fornicator?" I was barraged with belittling insults and threats. Again, I pointed out that Jesus, it is claimed, most likely had children but was never married. At the mild end, some people just demeaned me and insisted that Jesus had to be perfect to be the son of God. At the more severe (and even more ignorant) end, I was told that I didn't understand the definition of fornication (according to them, sex while married). I said that sex with another while married was adultery, not fornication. Some people literally told me I would burn in hell for such a question and that I didn't understand what the word meant. I consulted a dictionary at that point. My definition was correct. This illicited some of the angriest responses of all. Rather than being told I was an idiot and a liar, I was cursed at and so were my parents. GREAT, Christians.
Hey, I still have some of those answers to my question around if you'd ever like to see them. Fundies are a real blast. When will they ever understand - science and mathematics cannot DISPROVE God, nor is it the purpose of atheists or agnostics to 'demean' Christianity with stated fact. What they refuse to see is that the advancement of society lies in knowledge and true morality, NOT in the words of an antiquated novel.
Argh! I'm angry! Thanks for letting me rant on your question!

You have claims backwards! There are fossils all over the Earth with Man's and Dinosaur's footprints fossilized together! Several are in Texas and up to 200 feet long! They had to be made the same day of the mud would have been too wet or too dry to hold them! There are more in Minn. also. ALL of the History in the Bible has been confirmed at least twice from neighboring countries! Plus all the History in Israel itself! Lots of places in the Bible are still around today! Like Noah's Ark that is on top of a mountain in Turkey! Built to the same measurements as the Bible states! How do You think it got there? It is the Atheist "big bang" that has Zero proof to it! Do You know where the very first atom could have come from? Nope! For science has Never been able to figure this out! That is why they start with the "bang" already happened! There is Zero proof! Science can Not even explain today how a caterpillar can make cocoon, become a red jelly with out any bones, then become a butterfly! Do you think you know? Atheists dates and times keep changing, they can not even make up their minds. When I was in school it was an even six Billion years that was taught. Now Trillions of years are taught. Yet Facts/fossils say we were here at the same time! See if you can get "Time/Life's Lost Civilizations, Mesopotamia" on VCR only, to watch. It has tones of proof! Plus there is tons more proof you can watch, ones even with hours of proof on Noah's Ark! How come around 15 million people have died, been confirmed dead by a medic, and have come back to life ALL describing the basically same experience? Watch "The Lazarus Phenomenon" on DVD or FREE over the Internet! See for yourself. Divide the 15 million by our population and find out how common it is! Earth is 6,000 years old!

No, the fact of evolution does not prove there is no god -- evolution being a fact just means evolution is a fact. That it is a fact does, however, contradict the mythical creation stories in several superstitious holy books -- which shouldn't surprise anyone, since they were written thousands of years ago by ignorant goat herders who knew nothing about biology.
It's plainly evident that there is no god, even though there's no proof of non-existence. The preponderance of evidence is clearly on the "there is no god" side. The evidence on the "there is a god side" is non-existent. Pretty simple.
Peace.

If god is omnipotent then he can achieve his desired result in any way that he wants.
If he is omnicognizant then he can see every way of creating the universe that will end up with his desired result.
Put the two together and you quickly realize that god could have created the universe in the exact form that will create his desired result.
The people who deny evolution are:
1) Ignorant.
2) placing limits on their god, saying that he could not have created the universe in such a way that it resulted in the form we see today.
While I personally do not believe in god, I have no real issue with those who do and accept proven scientific facts as part of his design.

evolution doesn't disprove god.
All it does it offer up a very well-proven argument that before all the animals currently on the planet, there were other animals that lived here and lived and died and that there vestiges are still present in animals currently living.
People who think evolution and science are somehow against the bible are typically lacking in something called "a formal education" and often are also Fundamentalists, meaning that they believe their religious holy book of choice tells history AS IT WAS literally.
Anyone who has ever taken a course in critical thinking and information analyzation would be able to see the fallacies of this kind of thinking, but sadly, you don't have to prove you are sane or rational to lead a movement or even to speak to the public.

Well, it certainly doesn't help the case that he does exists. It does very much prove the biblical account of Genesis to be untrue. So no, it does beyond doubt prove that there is no God, but that is not the question it is answering.

Evolution makes no mention of god or of what started the process. It is the best explanation we have of the natural events under which life developed on this planet.
It is completely independent of god.

I find it amusing that fundamentalist Christians (and Muslims) find evolution so threatening. I shouldn't speak for them, but I imagine the reason is that evolution contradicts their literal interpretation of Genesis. I've long known that education replaces cocksure ignorance with thoughtful uncertainty. It pains me deeply to deal with people who prefer to remain willfully ignorant while they imagine they alone hold the keys to the kingdom.

It disproves a literal interpretation of many origin myths like the Genesis account, but not the general idea of a god.
