YOU ARE RIGHT AND I AGREE BUT THE LORD DOES ASK THAT YOU GIVE HIM SOMETHING IN RETURN FOR WHAT HE HAS GIVEN YOU

It is not a commandment in the New Testament, but it is a Biblical principal that 10% of what you earn really belongs to God. You are right when you say that the command was repeated, but you are wrong to think that the 10% doesn't still belong to God..
The woman caught is adultery. She was forgiven and told to "go and sin no more" OK..
New Testament she was forgiven this manner, Old Testament she would have been killed by stoning.. Different punishments, but the sin was still a sin.

If you are a Christian and you don't want to support God's work, then keep your money because God does not need it. He will raise up others to take your place. I personally have been blessed through tithing and I have considered tithing 20% across the board..
First off I would doubt that you are a Christian with your attitude about money, and second why even go to church if you don't want to support the programs, stay home and watch football it won't cost you anything and then you can't complain about the money..
If you feel obligated to give then KEEP YOUR MONEY
God loves a cheerful giver and I love to give to God's work..

We are bound by the Old and New Testament not just the new. No where in the Bible does it say that we are not accountable for the laws of the Old Testament. That is just assumed by man and his own interpretation. Here are some New Testament text on tithing.

Matthew 23:23
Luke 11:42
Luke 18:12
Hebrews 7:5

Thanks. The polls you linked are precisely where the nation's interest lies, and I don't mean like Obama's seemingly endless strategic deceptions. 100 million unemployed registering claims since 2009 puts the pain for workers under this Administration into focus in ways the media has ignored for too long. Is it any wonder the economy hasn't turned for tens of millions the BLS doesn't even bother to count any longer? The Peter Ferrara analysis for Forbes shows how some of our brightest, most capable economists see evidence that we're still not out from under the worst five years since the great depression. It's worth reading, as are the statistics you've gathered, which Obama apologists naturally refuse to accept. Department of Labor ETA counts seem more honest and representative than anything coming from the BLS at this point.

Mat 23:23 "How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income,* but you ignore the important things of the law--justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.

Luk 11:42 "But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income,* but you completely forget about justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.

We are NOT bound as you stated but we SHOULD.

"SHOW ME THE MONEY, HONEY!!!!"

What is your purpose in all of this?

All of what you have belongs to the Father...ALL of it.

He gave it to you to STEWARD for a purpose. He wants to bless you so you can bless others. your cup overflows so it spills on others.

When you give out of love and gratitude and the understanding of why you have what you have been given then I would think that 10% would seem paltry.

To give out of fear, guilt, duty, obligation certainly does not please the Lord.

and btw it is spelled testament not testimate.

No, what you should be doing is praying to God how much you should give and then give that. However, Christians don't do this because of the fear that God will tell them to give much more than 10%. How bold are you? What if God tells you to give your entire paycheck and trust Him for all your needs to be met? Would you do it? Honestly.

mmm well it doesnt have to be proved in the new testament .. and God Himself made a promise in the old ... and it is the ONLY thing in the bible that God asked people to prove Him on ... give to God what is Gods and He will pour out a blessing on you ... so tithe if you want to .....
