Nah, 12-step programs are too cliche!
We just need a 2-step program.
Step 1: Turn off the computer
Step 2: Walk away

1. admit that you are an addict
2. Admit that your computer hates you
3. Turn off the computer
4. Throw it out the window.
5. Say to yourself "I hate computers and i will not go near one" 50 times.
6. Remove any yahoo answers bumper stickers from your car.
7. Promise not to debate religion on the internet.
8. Take away all electronics from your house.
9. Become amish.
10-12. Become even MORE amish.

12 Step programs are pretty much useless. They only make people who are addicted to 12 Step programs.

Man, are you right. I recognized last month that I was getting addicted to this nonsense. Then I had to ask myself if I was on yahoo answers at times that I should have been with my kid or husband. This is the same thing that is happening with kids and video games, TV, friends, myspace, etc.. It can alienate them from the family unit or interupt something much more productive in life. I gotta stop before it gets out of hand.

12 step programs usually involve some belief in a deity, so we'll need to find another solution for us.
