While I'm sure it's helpful for the younger kids to get advice from adults, I don't think it's appropriate for them to be reading some questions and answers on here. I think there should be a greater divide from a 14 year old asking how to kiss and an adult asking how to better please his/her mate.

Sorry -- this is what it is -- for all of us. That is why the Community Guidelines ask you to be careful about explicit language.

I can't beleave that everyone seems to agree. I realy think I disagree on this one. The only concern I have about kids and information on sex is that they might get bad advise. Not that they are going to find out something at all. America is so puritanical. Why can't we celebrate the fact that people have sex. It's really a lot of fun (yes, when treated responcibly).
We have an administration that thinks abstanance only is the best form of sex ed. So noone is seeing to it that they get good sexual educations. Sex is a part of life guys. A wonderfull, nessisary, and soul nurturing part. What does no education mean? Thousands of kids trolling yahoo trying to desperatly learn about why they feel the way they do. Someone needs to answer these questions and be sure to do your own part by answering them responcibly. Speak on real love, condoms, birth controll, and awearness of the rising STD epedimic. The rise of STD's by the way can only be stoped with government attention and spreading information about sex. I think it is a much better plan that sticking our head in the sand and pretending sex doesn't exist (except in the event that we personally want some or we hear that gay people want some. Then the religious "right" seems to feel perfectly fine to butt into people's lives).

There should be a divide, but unfortunately yahoo doesn't provide one. Anyway such a divide would be hard to implement. I think yahoo should delete questions regarding sex because many children might read them. Answers was first intended to help people find answers from real people. Unfortunately Answers has changed a lot and it's not the place it used to be. Too bad for the kids on here.

I TOTALLY agree 100%. This greatly disturbs me. I think the singles and dating and relationships area should be reserved for adults over 18. Kids are asking questions about sex here and are not getting the correct answers many times. On the flipside, I have to be careful about answering questions about sex or relationships cause I could be answering a minor. Kids need to learn to ask their parents if they have questions about sex, and parents should learn to be more open with their children about it or else they could learn the wrong way.

Maybe they should set it up to where in order to be able to ASK questions in the dating and relationships area, you have to enter a credit card number or a bank acct, not that its going to be charged but more importantly to verify that the person asking will be at least 16 years old. Maybe we should all contact yahoo with some suggestions?

Unfortunately there is not an adult oriented section. Maybe if enough adults write to yahoo asking for this they will open a section up for adults. It is very frustrating that most of the questions are how do i ask a boy out, or what do i say if he asks me out.

I do agree with you, I guess the kids could always ask questions on myspace or somewhere like that. It does seem sort of creepy to have a 40 something year old man answering a 14 year old girls questions about kissing.

Honestly I agree but it's nothing to really care about... Do you really care if the 14 yr old sees a question on how to please a mate? Do you care about seeing the 14 yr old ask how to kiss? It doesn't really matter and there isn't a way to stop it anyways-- it's not your call to decide whats appropriate for them to read and whats not, your not their mom, your a fellow Yahoo! Answerer and it's for everyone to go on soo... If you are really that concerned then don't ask questions on here.

Sounds reasonable, but I haven't come across any Adults Only section of Yahoo Answers.

Hand up! The problem is that this is an open site and officialy thel allow kids 13 or 14 and up. I know that there alot of youner ones here too. This site would give them access to your new Adult section too, so that would be a problem.

I agree. I'm sure you adults would be much happier to have your own section and us kids would love it too, because then you wouldn't be complaining 24/7 about our "stupid" questions. I'm sorry you don't like to share Answers with kids, but for now we can't help it so it's not our fault if we ask questions, now, is it? After all, that's what Answers is for.

I could not agree with you more! I have asked quite often in this forum if there could be an "over 21" section...some of the posters on here are terribly young, inexperienced and have NO business giving out advice...as they don't seem to understand they can do more harm than good...
But then, how would you regulate this???
