BEER!!!!! (what can I say...i'm Irish)

I never did like beer. Not even in my college days. I do have to admit I sampled a few beers in Germany and they were really good, not the the horsewhiz we have here!

Religion on the other hand, just plain turns me off. I'm a Christian, and I enjoy a relationship with my Creator, not a bunch of man-made rules. I do worship in an organized denomination, but I don't consider us to be 'religious' per se. We just like to get together and fellowship, study the Bible and worship the Lord together.

Although beer does make you think you see what you're not really seeing, lets you make a fool of yourself in front of mass quantities of people, and leaves you with an empty/unsatisfied taste/feel the next day that can never be quenched.

Religion on the other hand, is there whenever you need it, loves you no matter what and fills the voids in your life in a way that no night of binging on beer can.

Have some free salvation, on Jesus...he's already paid the tab for the rest of your days.

Beer! Like it says on my beer mug from the Agnostic & Atheist Student Group, Texas A&M:

No one will kill you for not drinking a beer. Beer doesn't tell you how to have sex. Beer has never caused a major war. They don't force beer on minors who can't think for themselves. When you have a beer, you don't knock on people's doors trying to give it away. Nobody's ever been burned at the stake, hanged, or tortured to death over their brand of beer. You don't have to wait 2000+ years for a second beer. There are laws saying that beer labels can't lie to you. You can prove you have a beer. If you devoted your life to beer, there are groups to help you stop.

Religion

I disagree. I think beer DOES make false promises, lies and deceives. It makes you think that you are smarter when you are just killing brain cells. It makes you think that the girl sitting next to you is pretty when she is a guy. It makes you think that you can break the wall with your hand when you can't. And it may not tell you that you are going to hell, but it will make you feel like hell in the morning. So what's the difference?

God never lies and never breaks a promise though we often break our in of the covenant(a pack or promise) with God. God promises are true for those that believe and keep their end as well. The Beer will only satisfy you for a short time. Jesus will satisfy you for eternity, Drink from the well water of eternal life in Jesus.

you dont get it. beer can lead to things, which lead to things, which lead to THINGS...while religion leads to God, and God leads to spirituality, and spirituality leads to heaven...and what could be better than that?

Lets see! They are both man made, both have the potential to make you fat, both have potential to distort your thinking, both can make you sick, both can make you be something your not, both can make you say or do things you normanly wouldn't, both bring people together whether positive or negative, both can destroy or build relationships. IYouget the point.

Example of a benefit of beer, ask your buddy to fix the brakes on your car for 20 bucks and he'll laugh at you. Offer that same buddy a 12 pack of beer and he will rebuild your engine.

Benefit of religion, .................................................

I'll take the beer.

beer dosn't lie? Thats a lie. Budwiser dosn't make you wiser. Not to mention the many many many people who have done stupid things while at the beer alter.

Religion lies too, but at least it dosn't addict. I say religion is less harmful to the body, and beer is less harmful to the soul.
