Sweetie try drinking a full glass of water or milk before eating and eat slow! You should try to consume the regular 2,000 calories a day with your biking! Good luck.

My heart goes out to you I don't have that problem but I have the opposite I'm to skinny and it's hard to gain weight. But I have been able to put ten pounds on by doing the following:
1. I eat slower and enjoy every taste.
2. I've also started eating six small meals a day
3. Try to drink a full glass of water at least 10 to 20 minutes
before eating.
4. My best friend is overweight and 280 and she started
eating slower and drinking water before. The mind plays
tricks on our bodies so if you eat quickly your stomach
won't feel satisfied that's why each meal must be chewed
and eaten slowly.
5. Eat in moderation, don't diet just change the size of your
dinner plate it will trick the eye into putting less on it.
6. Make sure you include lots of veggies and fruit as
snacks.
7. Do not deprive yourself or you'll only continue to eat the
wrong foods and snack to much.
8. Think of all the additions you may be puttin on your
sandwiches, salads. and if you snack just grab
something you crave, but eat is slowly and think of each
bite, the flavour, the texture, the taste.
9. If you constantly feel as if your dieting and depriving
yourself you will never lose the weight so look at your
habits differently.
10. Buy your icecream or frozen yogourt, or popcorn and
enjoy it. Your already exercising and that's fantastic,
now just try it six smaller, healthier meals and hopefully
you will notice that your not alway hungry or craving.
I wish you the best of luck. And always have a breakfast, then
break up the five other meals as a morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and an evening snack. Drink the water beforehand and eat slowly your brain registers the feeling of fullness. Good luck and all the best to you, you can do this. I really hope I've helped you.

You have @ large amount of weight too lose and you do need professional help but here are some tips:

*you have to drink water, lots of water (this does help)
*you have to eat healthy: whole grains (breads/cereals/rice and fruits and lots of vegetables) when you eat healthy and adequate portion sizes you don't have to worry about calories (generally) but in your case with so much weight too lose that may not be 100% true (Eat something every 3 to 4 hours) Most of your calories should come from breakfast and lunch and dinner must always be "light"
AND something nobody will tell you: you will need to go to bed a little hungry at night, there will be times when you have dinner and you are hungry: Bottom Line the only solution is 4 to 6 oz (s) of V8 (It helps ease hunger) and to know you get another day (tomorrow) to eat healthy and have one of your biggest meals: breakfast. (Accept this)

Our family mantra: Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels and we've never been overweight!

If you change your approach to I want to eat to be healthy and exercise to be healthy (this is not a diet) you will suceed.
Good Luck

Why don't you try ediets? They are great. They tell you how many calories to eat a day, what meals to eat, and can even get your meals delivered to your home, if your willing to spend $17 for 8 weeks or more $ to have food delivered. Its all about change.

Don't drink soda, drink OJ, skim milk, and lots of water. Starting off slow. Sandwiches are good if your using the right condiments that are low fat and lots of fruit. Raisins, kiwi, watermelon, walnuts ect... There are many foods that are low in calories.

ediets also tell you what to eat how to prepare and what exercises to do. You should check it out. Its very organized and will help you learn how to eat properly. Read online all tips they have on ediets. Your biking everyday which is good cardio but you need to incorporate body toning at least 15 minutes a day 3x a week. Try videos for body toning. Good luck.

You are generally supposed to space your meals between 2-4 hours apart. Past 4 hours and you risk feeling too hungry and thus eating too much. At your weight? Assuming a sedentary lifestyle and age around 25 (I didn't see your age so I just picked a number)... You'd need 2370 calories per day to MAINTAIN your current weight. The calculations do NOT include your daily bike rides. That said, your best bet is to fill up on fruits and veggies (they're all pretty packed with water). Drink plenty of water, especially vs. pop and fruit juice and such, but don't deprive yourself too much or you will eventually give in to some random craving. Try to eat lots of fiber as that will help you fill full too. Bottom line - if you want to maintain what you are doing, make it something you ENJOY and can live with. I like to use this mentality - make your calories count. That is, fill up on low calorie foods like lean protein, fruits, veggies... And if you do have something fattening, make it something that you will really enjoy and that will really satisfy you for that time. If you don't feel like drinking water with your meal, have milk - so that you are getting calcium. Aim for maximum nutrients in as few of calories as possible but remember that a little fat helps you to feel full. Also, avoid fast food and other processed food as much as possible. That's always my downfall simply because of their convenience.

Drink water ALL THE TIME. Keep biking, start doing some toning exercises. Cut out the bread, crackers. Eat veggies and fruit, sweets once a month.
I've been doing this and have lost 46 pounds since last Feb of 06 and I feel great.

my mom is doing a weight loss thing herself right now and she was told by a nutritionist to eat "small" healthy meals every 2 hours. as far as what to eat and how much, that has to be based on each individual. How much you are active is a big factor. Drinking lots of water though out the day also helps you not only stay hydrated but keeps your stomach feeling more full

Cut out the carbs and stick to fruits and vegetables more. Also, I heard that if you eat 12 almonds half an hour before you eat, it tricks your stomach into thinking it is full and you will eat less. I don't know if it really works, but you might want to try it or look it up. Also, drink lots of water. And ice water will make your body burn calories because it has to work to warm it up.
And if you eat more slowly, you tend to get full on less food. I read an article about that.

"Don't eat carbs" and similar things are easy in theory, but try it for two months - ugh! Losing weight is simple, really. Calories in < calories out = weight loss. How many calories we need can be determined by our age, our metabolism, our gender, and how active we are.

I agree with the 6 small meals - every trainer I have ever had has suggested this. It will keep you from "crashing" after a heavy meal, and keep your insulin levels more even, which perks up yor metabolism so you burn more fat allll day long!

Stay away from sugar and from fat. DO have good carbs (veggies) and lean meat. DON'T do junk food!

Here's a link to figure out how many calories you need - just plug in your age, weight, gender:

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul...

Follow the instructions to determine the calories you need daily using the formula they provide. Divide those calories by 6. There's your "6 small meals" caloric allottment. Don't forget to include caloric liquids!

To figure out how many calories you eat daily, check out:

www.myfooddiary.com.

Just enter what you ate/drank that day and it will tell you how many calories you had. IT WILL TELL YOU WHAT CALORIES ARE GOOD AND WHICH ARE BAD, TOO! Go to "daily reports" and check out the fat/sodium content, for example. You can enter your exercise too, and it will even tell you day by day how far you have to go to get to your goal weight.

Good for you for doing your daily workout! That helps the "calories out" portion of the weight loss equation. Do you have a heart rate monitor? If not here is a link to a simple calorie calculator that will help you figure out how many calories you burn working out:

http://www.weightlossresource.com/tools/...

Finally: think of your body as a machine, and only use high-powered fuel.

Good luck!

as far as the bread & crackers, stick to whole wheat....you should eat in the morning like a bowl of oatmeal or cereal, then eat a piece of fruit couple hours later, then lunch maybe salad or grilled chicken & veggies, couple hours later more fruit or snack bar (special k, sooo good), then dinner....so i guess eat something every couple hours....limit your carbs & sugar, stay away from sodas (even diet), drink lots of water w/ meals & in between meals this will make you feel full quicker, eat lots of raw veggies & fruit, keep up w/ the exercising....good luck!!

Oh yeah....lots of fiber too, fat sticks to fiber when exiting your body
