I'm not sure. I feel the same way about certain things. Not necessarily the texture, a lot of times the smell of somethings, and I absolutely cannot stand it when hair gets on things, even if it is my own hair, like if it is on the couch, bed, etc. It is just something that I have to try to deal with.

I think to a degree it's probably normal. I can't stand wool, it can't be on me or anywhere near me (as in clothing, blankets, etc.). I also can't stand blankets that aren't smooth and soft. They don't irritate my skin, per se, I think it's more of a psychological thing. I just can't stand them. I would sleep with no blanket on a cold night rather than one that isn't to my standards. My husband teases me all the time about this too. Another thing is that I can't sleep in a bed that isn't made a certain way. I remake beds where ever I go, otherwise I can't sleep. I also can't sleep if my pillow is touching the headboard. I will wake up and constantly move so that it's not touching. I think you could seek help for this if you feel it's impeding your life, otherwise try embracing your quirkiness. There's nothing wrong with being a bit different!
