I am on a impactful diet started last Monday AM (28 May), and will get off the diet Saturday AM (2 June). To date, 3 1/2 day, I have lost 5.2kg (11.5lbs). This is primarely a detox diet, consisting of fresh vegetable soup (water based) for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. In addition, freshly squeezed lemon in water every morning and late afternoon. In between, som fresh fruit, and Quaker oatmeat (water based and only after the first 2 days), and lots of water. I also take 3-4 coups of black coffee each day (no sugar or milk).
On top of this, I do 2-3 hours heavy training each day; cardio, weights and martial arts.
Note that I am under supervision by an expert (personal trainer and nutrition), and am in very good shape prior to this detox diet.
I expect to loose 7-8kg (15.5-17.5lbs) during this 1 week thing.
This is very demanding and initially I would not recommend unless you are in a good physical shape prior and that you do this under supervision.
Anyway, it works if you want to loose weight fast combined with a detox. Important of course, to maintain a good balanced diet afterwards combined with good excersise. Under any circumstances, if you choose to give it a try; do not do this more than 7 days.
[I am now on Day 5 on this diet, and have lost 6kgs (13.2lbs].

The main thing is that you need to change the way you eat for life, not just until you lose the weight you want. Stay away from fried and processed (Frozen) foods. Fresh/frozen veggies, lean protein, whole grains, fresh fruit, or frozen with no added sugar, low-fat dairy. A good way to ease yourself into an exercise routine is to start walking. A mile a day is a good start, and work your way up from there. The above diet is not safe, and when people go back to eating the way they did before they put the weight right back on, and in most cases end up weighing more than they did before they started the quack diet.

I was 160 pounds from age 12 to 20, and no matter what I ate it never changed. Finally this year I started drinking more water and walking on the treadmill for 2 hours a WEEK, and I've already lost 20 pounds.
Water! Walk! :)

PC is diluted. if you lose more than 2lbs per week it is muscles and water that is being lost. not fat. what you should do to start is keep a week long journal of everything you eat and when and what kinds of exercises and activities you are involved in. then bring the journal to a nutritionist or a personal trainer and they will definitley be able to set up a program for you.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You need to provide more info...
How tall are you? are you overweight? What is your body type?
If you need to lose weight for health reasons, I highly recommend Weight Watchers. I have lost weight on their program and have kept it off.
