No, it doesn't scare democrats.
We're logical, reasonable people who know that god doesn't elect presidents, people do.
If the power of prayer is so great...why don't you all get together and pray for a peaceful end to the Iraq war, TODAY. Tell your all-powerful god to end all the bloodshed, much of it by innocent people and by our brave soldiers. Go ahead, have god end it.
Oh, wait...supposedly millions of christians already *have* been praying for this. But it's still going, and May was the bloodiest month ever. So much for the power of prayer.
Here's an idea: vote for a president who won't lie to start wars, who won't run up the biggest deficits in history, and who doesn't pretend that an imaginary being tells him what to do. Now *that* would be a positive step for peace in the world...'cause god doesn't exist.
Peace.

Wouldn't it be amazing if they decided to engage in prayer themselves! I believe in the power of prayer, but I also believe that if a non-praying president became elected that it would be God's will and He would make good come out of the situation...on His time.
I really don't think that the Democrats have thought that prayer might help them though.

This is where the idea of the 'power of prayer' is ridiculous. Does a cause become more worthy due to having more prayers toward it rather than it simply being more worthy? Does God keep a tally? What if people on opposing sides pray for something, does he have to pick sides? What about those really important causes that don't have the numbers on their side?

It scares us that so many people can be so ignorant! I'm not even talking about the existence of God, which is certainly debated enough on Y!A. I'm talking about God helping people just because they get together and sing and pray. Why would he do that? Why wouldn't he help people who help themselves? Doesn't it say exactly that in YOUR bible?
I believe the election was decided by money, and rigged election machines in Florida. I lived there at the time and I can assure you Kerry took FL. Plus the Republicans paid preachers and other ministers to tell thier congregations to vote republican. This isn't speculation, it's documented. There were ministers standing outside polling places on election day in MO, LA, FL, GA and SC telling people God wanted them to vote republican. Can you admit this is a dirty, immoral sin? Or are you too blinded by your party indoctriantion?

I thought you left yesterday. It is addicting isn't it.
Now to your question. Actually Al Gore had the majority of the popular vote when Bush ran the first time. If not for the fundies at Fox News we might not be in Iraq now.
Bush carried conservative states like mine, unfortunately, with more than a few electoral votes to add.
You fundies time in Washington is in its last years. Enjoy the power while you have it but you will never get it again. You have been exposed now and the WHOLE country is well aware of the agenda of the religious right!

Wow!! That's amazing!!!! Why don't you get all you little Christian buddies to pray that Global Warming will go away and the Chimps don't have DNA that's 99% the same as ours. Then all of our problems will dissappear. You prayed for Bush, who starts wars, abandons New Orleans, appionted inept, corrupt, but fervently conservative and Christans to important government posts!! The man whos best attribute is that he gave the rich a tax cut!!! Are you sure you were praying to God????? Did you sacrifice a virgin while you did it???

Prayer doesn't scare Democrats. What scares ALL of us is evangelical Christians who think they have some given right to decide what American values are (they don't) and a President who is a lying, corrupt , unethical idiot hiding behind his religion while he invades abother country for oil. That's what scares me. Maybe you should pray for something that will actually make America stronger.

Then they should all face their enemies and just pray at each other. Line up all the Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and everybody else in a big circle. Then just let them pray at each other and whoever's god smites the other wins.
In the meantime, the rest of us can live out our lives without fear of some religious nut sniping us from a tower somewhere, blowing a car up, or flying a plane into a building.
